"So, Treguard." sneered Lord Fear "How are you getting on with Level 1?"
"Very well, without your interruptions." replied Treguard. " Look before you, the scenery known as Arrow Wood, vast amounts of green, an ambient market atmosphere and some enchanted ruins make it ideal!"
"Pathetic." groaned Fear, clearly not impressed. "Is that the best you can do? Well then, Level 2 doesn't get moremysterious and sinister than the Shadow Caverns, and of course ou have Level 3 - the once again great Marblehead! I doubt that a dungeoneer can get through all of that, can you?"
"We will find out that answer soon enough." replied Treguard."Now, if you excuse me, I have more pressing matters to be dealing with!" And communication between the two aprubtly ended.
Meanwhile, in Arrow Wood, tension between the Powers That Be was already rife. Ingard and Drassil were arguing over who would have the most valuable clue items, whilst Frego and Kully were irritating one another.
"Silence!" stormed Hordriss. "One cannot take any more of this nonsense. We are all members of the same team, and as a team, we shoould focus on our main objective, and that is to finish the reconstruction of Level 1!"
"I couldn't agree more, Hordriss." insisted Merlin. "In the meantime, I shall go and investigate what the Opposition are up to in the lower levels!"
"Excellent suggestion." agreed Hordriss. "One acknowledges the need to spy on the enemy, as it will help us most in attempting to overcome the duel."
But, unaware to them, the female elf attempting to track down Kully was lurking in the bushes. She had listened to the Powers That Be's entire conversation, but was scared off as soon as she saw Merlin advance towards her, himself on a mission to find out what was happening in the lower levels of Knightmare....
