Not too much is new.  Tomorrow I go to Jaco (beach) with Esther.  The presidential elections are on Sunday and school starts up on Tuesday.  I don't think that I'm going to meet with the girls I'm working with until Thursday, and then I'll probably start teaching starting the next Monday.

Yesterday we had an outing to one of the many city parks.  It was a nice park with two lakes, a hill, a number of soccerfields, and a trampoline!  However, only 4 girls showed up so even though it was fun, it wasn't as productive as I'd hoped.  Oh, well it's all good, and the details of the program will work themselves out in time...or at least I still have time to work on them.

Today was great because I got internet installed on my own computer so now I don't have to go onto my coworkers' computers to check my email and such. :)

Well, Valentines Day was Tuesday and down here it's a day for your special someone and also to celebrate friendship.  I appreciated this being I have no special someone, and friends her are something special and valuable to me, especially at this point being that I have a few to keep me sane.  But I also appreciate all the friends and family state-side that wished me a happy V-day.

I also made a V-day card on The Office website of me looking at Jim who's supposed to be down about Pam being with Roy.  It would be way cool if they posted my card on the website.  You should check it out www.nbc.com/the?_Office the link is on the front main column a little to the right.  It's pink, you can't miss it.

Today is my first day of group session with the girls I'm working with.  Since this is the first full week of school, we are finally starting group meeting.  (I'm still at a loss for what to call it.)  Anyways, we're just going to do some getting-to-know-you stuff.  I'm drawing upon my knowledge of former Youth group games and ice breakers.

Well as most of you can tell, I've added photos to this little site of mine...and you've probably seen the page about my hair.  Yes it was quite the adventure to get my hair cut.  I was not intending to have pink hair, but I like it.  I'll enjoy it for the time, and then go onto to something else.

Today I had the experience of calling all the girls in my group and reminding them that we are meeting today.  It's really intimidating to be on the phone, but I made it.  It was painless.  I'd much rather call a slew of people in Spanish than go to the dentist.

All that said, we have group today and we are going to be talking about goals.

Last night I went to a workshop sponsored by Christ for the City on how to minister to people in pain led by Dee Johnson.  She's from Omaha, NB and I really enjoyed it and found it very beneficial.

So yesterday Mom spoke in chapel (10:35am) and I was planning on listen via WETN online.  Well, the internet konked out here at 9am, and the internet cafe I went to didn't have the capacity to listen in live (BOO!).So I went about the rest of the day in a bit of a funk of dissappointment.

Then last night I went to Christina Pena's birthday party and all funk was forgotten.  It was a lot of fun, and was my first bilingual birthday party experience.  Plus, Esther got to spend the night afterward and it was good to catch up since she'd spent the last 2 weeks living it up in Nicaragua.

Today at work I got an email from Mom giving me the transcript to her message.  That made me happy.  Then I went online to WETN site and they now have a download (more or less) of the chapel.  So I downloaded it and played it loud and proud, and when anyone in the office asked who I was listening to, I just smiled and said "that's my Mom!".
