My objectives as a university professor and educator are "multivariant". First, I strive to provide an educational experience to my students (undergraduate and postgraduate) that is both challenging and nurturing. Students in my courses (i.e Human Pathology & Clinical Chemistry), as well as my own gradutae research students and research officials are challenged to fully understand the underlying physical and chemical principles that help in understanding both the root causes and solutions to many pathogenesis problems of various human diseases. Second, I strive to engage in high quality and novel research that complements research efforts of my academic colleagues and practitioners in the free radical communities. The issues of QAS and QC are important to the psyche of Team Radical. Finally, I strive to engage in educational activities that go beyong the walls of The National University of Malaysia at Kuala Lumpur, Health Campus. As such, I have been involved with efforts to supervise more than 150 undergraduate and 28 postgraduate students (10 PhD and 18 Master of Health Sciences and Medical Sciences, as well as the genaral public (massmedia, seminar, workshop & conferences), on issues related to free radical pathology and antioxidant networks.
