| Jamrock was founded in 1995 through the desire of a few Jamaicans to hear AUTHENTIC reggae music. There are several reggae bands in the Triangle area, but they fall short of delivering true "yard style" reggae rhythms, reggae standards and an authentic Jamaican sound, concentrating instead on a "roots" type reggae that has more political and religious overtones. Comprised of three Jamaicans as the core of the group, Jamrock has gone from a non-entity to one of the most respected reggae bands in the Triangle area. The success of the group can be attributed to their sound which reflects the true style of how reggae music is played back in Jamaica. All versions of reggae are played i.e. Lovers Rock, Oldies, Dancehall and Roots. Some popular American tunes are also covered. The members of Jamrock are professionals who understand time commitments, quality service and the benefits that providing a good service can bring. When all the ingredients are combined, there's no sound quite like the Jamrock sound. We provide the mood, the music and the magic to take you to Jamaica. |
