Not So Longest Drive

Bonus points can make a huge difference to the scoring; it is therefore 
necessary to grab them when the opportunity arises.

As the Jammers reached the par 5 11th, the bonus for Straightest drive was up 
for grabs on this nominated hole.  It was clear that Abbott needed to blast 
his drive outta-sight.  Abbott had shown driving form and it was stated coming 
to the eleventh that it would be Abbott's point.

Avery hit first pulling his drive left into thick rough. Gibbons followed almost 
reaching the ladies tee, some thirty meters in front of him. His driver almost 
made it past the ball. Mackie followed just reaching the ladies tee, Abbott had 
a clear fairway to blaze away at. His swing thought got in the way of his desire 
to blast the ball into the heavens, Abbott thinned the ball, it ran along the 
ground a whopping 120 meters into the middle of the fairway giving Abbott a well 
needed point.
