| It is with much consternation that I read the well considered debate over handicappng for the Jam. On behalf of the committee I'd like to thank Brother Abbott for sacrificing so much of his own (or was that BP's?) time towards quantifying (I'm not sure I actually know t he meaning of this word) our golf. It raises many important considerations which have been furthered by Brother Mic-wise. But I see the impending debate which has proven a fateful quandary for many of our great pastimes: tradition versus progress....and it scares me. For it is hard to strike a balance and like a falling tightrope walker you must go one way or the other; the middle ground hurts too much. Clearly the dabate must continue but I suggest an extraordinary PRAM be called (or perhaps just an early one) to eat, drink, be merry and spill blood. Talk it up. Brother Father Mackie PS.
