Jalia's AO Journal
Jalia in Anarchy Online! 7-22-01
When Anarchy Online hit the stores I bought it the very first day. I didn't even have to upload the disc since I already had the Beta game installed (which was more advanced than what was being sold even).
There were a lot of problems at launch. A lot of people couldn't install, couldn't patch, couldn't register, or wouldn't register because it wasn't secure at first. I didn't have those problems, but when I got in to play the game was MUCH more laggy than in Beta and I got disconnected more often. Ultimately, I couldn't play much the first week or two.
What I did manage to do was recreate my original characters, Keeka the Clan Adventurer and Jaqui the Omnitek Martial Artist. I played Keeka for a while, but I had trouble finding armor and good weapons (needed better pistols or some melee weapons, 1 hand edged), and I kept running out of money to buy ammo and health kits. I got very frustrated; I was having a hard time even killing green mobs on missions. So I decided to go back to Jalia.
I had created Jalia on the first day as well. Jalia was the name of my shaman in Everquest, but the name had been taken in Beta. Not so upon release, I snatched it up. ^_^ Because Keeka was my Adventurer and Jaqui my MA, I had to make Jalia something different, so I went with an Enforcer. I actually played her first, but when I got stuck in Tir and couldn't log in without getting disconnected, I abandoned her for Keeka for a while.
Anyway, I was finally able to play Jalia again, I got her to Athen, and I've been playing her all the way since then. ^_^ Enforcers can be pretty fun to play!

Just a few screenshots of the first enforcer damage shield, which looks pretty cool even if it only does 1 damage per hit.

These are old pictures, before I started dual wielding even. I took them right after I got the damage shield program.

I like the cloak too. Seems like everyone has one but it still looks cool. Only problem is it doesn't display properly when you zone, so for the fashion conscious you have to remove it and put it back on just to look stylin'.
