ELECTRIC TRASH

Do you throw cigarette butts on your Living Room floor? Do you throw candy wrappers on your Living Room floor? Then DON'T throw trash on OUR Living Room floor (aka- THE EARTH!).

Here's an idea... when you see someone at, say, a stop light throwing a cigarette butt out of the window.... get out and throw it back into their car! Be sure to take a camera with you to capture the surprise on their face! I think that's funny :) But that's just me....So many people just DON'T GET IT....

I know that this hits a sour note with alot of smokers. But think about it... would you throw a cigarette butt on your living room floor? This is our living room. If you have ever been in Metropolitan rush hour traffic where there is a median... look along the roadside near the signal lights. What do you see? Very likely a large pile of cigarette butts. They add up.

Have you ever been to Lake Powell? A very lovely, beautiful, basically clean lake. Of course, the shores are stack full of dirty cigarette butts. These butts are "kicked up" especially after a storm. Yes, they may eventually disintegrate. But this can take several years. Meanwhile, I don't want my kids picking up the nasty things. I don't want my animals eating the nasty things. I don't want to swim in water with the nasty things. I don't want to look out my car window and see the nasty things. Do you? Wouldn't you rather see grass, trees, living creatures... or trash? Did you know that your child can die from eating a cigarette butt? I don't mean choke, I mean die. It is poison. Just a point about one of the worst and most common trash problems that most people don't think is a problem. It is your living space, why do you want to live in trash (?).

My position is that there is 100% NO reason for individuals to trash our environment. It is called LAZINESS. Only TRASH throws TRASH.

When you DO throw trash in a receptacle at home, throw larger, cleaner items such as cereal boxes, magazines, catalogs, and other bulk paper items and containers directly into a trash receptacle, rather than into a trash bag. It saves you money on trash bags and helps keep down the trash in the environment by using less trash bags.

Oh and PLEASE cut up those plastic bottle/can holders/retainers. Such a simple act.

PAPER SHREDDINGS - If you have a paper shredder, paper shreds can be used as bedding for small animals such as rabbits, ferrets and mice. Contact your local Humane Association or Pet Shop and ask if they can use these shreddings. Shreddings can also be used as padding and stuffing in packages.

Trashing the environment is the same as trashing your home. How many people do YOU know that throw empty coke bottles, bear bottles, and cigarettes on their floor?

Any suggestions or comments, please email me. My objective is to "Get the word out". Thx
