It just happens to be that although this is a recent developement, Quaree has some history to it. Belive it or not, the program has been in developement since around 1995. It began as a way for me to keep track of people. Beginning as a mere text editor, with nothing special to it, it formed it's way to what it is today. The history, from the most recent to the most ancient, are listed below. Some date spaces are left out or are vague due to lack of information.
Version Event Date
None Quaree was first developed as a text editor where lines were separated by commas.
v1 Quaree v1 was developed. this version was still dos compiled, but had separate entries. Each entry was held ina binary file instead of a text file, and was only acessable if you knew the ID number. The id numbers could not be listed. 1995
v1.1, v1.2 Quaree v1.1 allowed the id numbers and thier names to be listed. Quaree v1.2 allowed you to delete an entry, However all it did was set all values of that entry to null.
v2.0 Quaree v2.0 had one big advantage over v1.1 & v1.2. It was in windows. Most of it's methods were the same, and the file types were compatable. The application had a list box that listed the names. It's method also relied on id numbers for acess to the file, so the id numbers were listed with the names in the list box. This was unsightly, but was the only method that the language being used could do. v2.0 was never compiled. april-august, 2002
v2.1 v2.1 still had an id-based system of finding a name, and was nearly idewntical to v2.0. The difference is in it's system of finding the id of a person. Again, it listed the names in a list box, but each name had a hidden value held in a variable that was unseen, so it was not only faster, but did not need the user to see the id numbers 2003
