What we offer

Lying on the boundary between the Liptov and Orava districts of Northern Slovakia (on the route from Ruzomberok to Dolny Kubin), our house provides superior short or longer term self-catering accommodation. Komjatna is a hamlet ideally placed for skiing (with one of Slovakia's best ski resorts nearby) and cycling, but it also provides opportunities for a wide variety of walks for all abilities in the magnificent mountains all around. The scenery in Liptov and Orava districts is truly breathtaking. With many hills, mountains, rivers, caves and waterfalls, this is an ideal area for sightseers. At any time of the year there are always excellent views to be appreciated.

Facilities
  • the detached house has a shared garden with the landlord, courtyard, and truly spacious parking and barbecue area.

  • the kitchen is fully equiped with cooking/dining equipment: it has an electric cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, and is well-stocked with crockery, glassware, cutlery, pots and pans.

 Activities, Attractions and Sightseeing

Skiers, cyclists, hill walkers, climbers, and naturalists will all find the area ideal. A 15 minutes' drive will take you to one of the best ski resorts in Slovakia, SKI PARK Ruzomberok. A drive in the opposite direction towards Dolny Kubin will take you to the skiing amenities in the Orava district (Kubinska Hola, or Kuzmino skiing centre in Dolny Kubin).
There is much to recommend the area for hill and forest walks. The nearby ruins of Likava Castle are also well worth a look. As is the picturesque hamlet Vlkolinec , registered among the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage treasures.
If you are fond of water, you may wish to visit the Liptovska Mara reservoire, or Sutovo (shoo-to-vo) Waterfalls within less than an hour's drive. We highly recommend favourite thermal springs and spas , also within easy reach. Maps and rucksacks are freely available.
