| Wow, I don't even konw what to say. This series was the first of its kind; it blew away the world when Tolkien first published it with its vibrant settings, tangible characters, and epic proportions. The giant battle between good and evil had never found a more potent home in a book except in, assuredly, the Bible. If you haven't read this series (even if you hate fantasy . . . and I'm not really sure what you'd be doing on a site called "Jake's Fantasy Archive," but whatever), you need to, for all the popular allsuions, if nothing else. If you haven't seen the movies (and I don't know how you couldn't have with all of the awards and recognition it has won), you need to do that too. This series is just too big and two wonderful to miss. With a deep bow to J.R.R. Tolkien for his pioneering endevours and phenomenal success, I give this series an A+. | |||||||||||
