Super-Condensed Summary
This is the never-ending series. With DB, DBZ, and DBGT added together, there are nearly five hundred episodes. Dragon Ball is about the childhood years of Goku, where Dragon Ball Z is about his adult life. Dragon Ball GT follows DBZ, but I don't even want to tackle addressing that. Back to the main plot: ha! there isn't one! Or at least not one that doesn't repeat over and over and over and over. The basic deal is that Earth is constantly being invaded by bad guys. However, Goku (who is a Saiyan, not a human, though he looks just like a human . . . if you ignore the tail) is here to fend them off. As the baddies get badder, Goku gets stronger. It's really quite ridiculous, but it is scarily addicting. Some characters are cool (Vegeta and Piccolo), some are bland (Goku, Gohan, Krillin), some are just flat-out annoying (King Kai, Buu, Bulma). There's a bit for everyone in here, so it's no wonder that it has been such a success here and in Japan.
