Spike Spiegel

I wish I could be like Spike. He seems like a lazy bum, but he's an insanely good fighter and a truly good person (though he'd probably deny it). Spike is the most laid-back, amazingly cool bounty hunter ever. Amid the crew of the Bebop (with the three things he hates the most, even: kids, dogs, and women with attitudes), Spike establishes his place as the best flyer and shot, and probably the most willing to eat anything, next to Ed. Always low on cash, he and his mates are always going after bounties, but seldom having too much luck. Spike is a former syndicate member. That doesn't really come into play much until the end of the series. Anyway, he's my hero.
Jet Black

Jet is the owner of the Bebop. A former policeman, he is now also a bounty hunter who spends a few episodes trying to reconcile his past. Despite his grumblings, he's really cool guy who isn't quite as interesting as Spike, but does take better care of bonsai plants. Gotta hand it to him, putting up with all these freeloaders this long....
Faye Valentine

Put into cold sleep some sixty or seventy years ago, Faye still looks like she's in her mid-twenties. She has very few memories of her past, though those return to her as the show progresses. Don't get me wrong, she's not exactly poor, helpless, and to be pitied. Faye, another member of the Bebop crew, is also a bounty hunter, though she doesn't exactly always cooperate with Spike and Jet. Some strange mix of elegance, luck, bluntness, and mischief seems to follow her everywhere.
Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV

Don't be fooled; Ed is a girl. Now that we got that out of the way... Ed is an amazing hacker and genius, though she's only a child. Undeniably the strangest member of the Bebop crew (and with the fewest bones in her arms; just watch her, you'll see what I mean), Ed is an irreplacable wealth of information for her adult counterparts, though she usually goes about things her own way. Watch the seventeenth episode, Mushroom Samba. It will make you happy.
Ein

He is, to some extent, a normal dog. However, once you start noticing things like his amazing ability to watch the news (see left), answer phones, and prevent powerful mind-control of strange online cults, it seems that maybe, just maybe, he isn't your average Welsh Corgi. An illegally produced data dog, Ein is highly intelligent and a generally cool pet.
Vicious

The bad guy of the series, Vicious is a member of the Red Dragon Syndicate that Spike left. After fighting his way to the top of the Syndicate, he comes after Spike, due to a grudge in the past (over Julia), as far as I can tell. I don't know, it seems a bit unprovoked to me, but that just shows what I know. Anyway, he fights with a katana, which is the coolest thing ever. Well, not really, but he is really an amazing fighter.
Julia

As fas as I know, she's not special enough to get a last name. Anyway, Julia is Spike's ... something-or-other from his Syndicate days. Their romance caused a rift between Spike and Vicious which ultimately led to Spike's departure from the Syndicate altogether. She's pretty cool, I guess. She's a beastly shot, that's for sure.
