Such Is The Moon

Towering above the reaches of our imaginations the moon reigns supreme over all that is dark and beautiful.
What beautiful flowers!
The night is young still.
I need direction in my life,
I lost my map years ago.
I call out to the wonder that is love,
It's duality offering comfort and pain.
Nothing else can compare.
I hear the sirens,
Someone is dead,
Free to join the billions upon billions already passed on.
Do we really pass on?
Or do we just rot,
Our minds trapped in the prisons of our skull?
Please give me direction,
I know not whether to follow the way of the flower,
Or the way of the nomadic herder across the desert.
Both are fulfilling,
Both appeal to my dual sides.
A flower is evil and good,
With purpose and none.
The nomadic herder is free,
With ignorance and only knowledge it needs.
I know too much.
My mind is a melting pot of ideas,
From the white man, the yellow man, the black man, the brown man, the red man, and those who do not want to be named.
All our knowledge came from the centuries of recent times.
What happened to the knowledge of our forefathers?
Those of millenia ago when we all were of the same family?
I'm rambling again.
Someone needs to knock some sense into me.
They say love conquers all,
I have nothing to conquer,
No one to conquer me.
This is my chess game,
And I am but an amateur.
We are all amateurs,
You just made more mistakes than I did.
I always cheat,
And i feel guilty afterwards.

Oh, the moon reigns supreme!
