THE OBITUARY FOR ALFRED SWEERIS:

Mr. Alfred Sweeris, aged 92, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, went peacefully into the arms of Jesus and joined his beloved wife in glory on Wednesday evening, February 6, 2008. Besides his wife, Marguriette O. Sweeris, he was preceded in death by his son, Leonard Sweeris, and brothers, Devere Sweeris and Howard Sweeris. He will be sadly missed by his family, including his grandchildren, Jeanne and Chuck Holwerda, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Jim and Donna Sweeris, of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia; six great grandchildren, Greg (Patty), Dan (Kate), Tom (Barb), Brad, Alyssa and Lindsay Holwerda; three great great grandchildren, Trinity, Serenity and Gabriella Holwerda; and his surviving brothers, sister and sisters-in-law, Art and Leone Sweeris, Eunice Sweeris, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Sis and Roy Alofs, of Mesa, Arizona; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Sweeris, of Detroit, Michigan; and many very special nieces and nephews. Mr. Sweeris enjoyed a good game of golf, but mostly enjoyed working on behalf of his Lord and church, as a lifelong member of Berkley Hills Wesleyan Church. Funeral and committal services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Berkley Hills Wesleyan church, 1670 Ball Ave. N.E. with Rev. Kyle Brown and Rev. Gerald Heyd officiating.
