Jaken is not a coward like Myouga. He would try to protect Sesshoumaru-sama. Jaken is usually quick thinking, and is pretty smart, but not as smart as Myouga. He wasn't great friends with Rin at first, but then became friends with her and started protecting her. When Sesshoumaru used his Tenseiga on Jaken, he asked Sesshoumaru why he killed him but he was still alive. Sesshoumaru said he was testing the sword. Jaken went mental after but later got over it. Even when he takes the hits for Sesshoumaru he wouldn't even complain.
