While at The Guantlet - A Witchblade convention held in Toronto this past 2002 Memorial Day weekend, we had a charity auction where the fans bid on items that were either from the show, show related or "star" related and autographed. All monies made were then donated to the Witchblade 'stars' charity of choice. We found out that David's Charity was the American Oceans Campaign now known as Oceana.
American Oceans Campaign has joined with Oceana to bring us a brand new non-profit international advocacy organization dedicated to protecting the world's oceans. The name of this new organization is "Oceana".
"American Oceans Campaign is working in Washington, DC, Los Angeles, CA, and in coastal communities across the country to revitalize the nation's oceans and coastal waters. AOC has two primary goals: restore and protect ocean habitats and ensure clean, safe beach water."
THE MISSION
The well-being and sustainability of the earth is dependent upon marine ecosystems.
The mission of American Oceans Campaign is to safeguard the vitality of the oceans and our coastal waters.
AOC is committed to scientific information in advocating for sound public policy. We are equally committed to developing partnerships with all entities interested in protecting the environment. AOC seeks to ensure healthy sources of food and coastal recreation as well as protect the ocean's grandeur for future generations.
