Unrepentant
Some people certainly, and deeply,
resent
what they see as flippancy on my part
in the comments I make freely about their god
and well, I’d like to sympathize with this
and try to understand their expressed pain,
for if one listens to the words, it’s said
their god is being mocked and hurt.
Oh, but I have a complaint or two myself
about this shallow line of reasoning,
not the least of which, naturally
is their god’s claim to be Almighty!
In this case, methinks, my puny words
certainly can never hurt his feelings,
nor threaten his place of supremacy.
But that’s not where the problem lies.
Here, let me explain what I mean:
religious people choose to put themselves
in spiritual straight jackets; tight ones too.
Their greatest fear is that another
not so encompassed by divine judgment
may be freely enjoying the fruits of life
which they no longer can or may.
How they squirm and fret and complain
then
at such hardship visited unjustly upon them:
they’d love to indulge in all those sweet “sins,”
but their angry god will have none of it
and so, they take it out on me!
Just remember this, O people of the
gods:
I choose not to accept religious rules;
I choose my destiny, do not force me to repent
from things I’ve worked so hard to learn;
from things I know that better serve
my own sense of divinity.
Have your ready-made home in heaven,
and blessed be, one and all:
‘Tis but a better Earth I wish to help make.
A Living Earth
Earth, man's home in linear time;
earth: small world of great changes;
but so filled with trepidation,
overrun by small-minded creatures
fearful of each other,
fearful of life, fearful of death:
afraid to lose their tenuous place
upon the planet's gentle face.
What are these people afraid of?
Overpopulation, they say:
is there such a possibility?
Certainly, earth is overpopulated
by people seeking personal power
and damn the consequences to all!
Certainly, selfishness abounds,
and many use their home
as if it were a garbage dump,
but does that prove anything?
Perception, in this case,
is sadly lacking.
for the earth gives birth to children
and loves them dearly, so the fault
lies with reprobate children,
not with the idea there's too many
for the mother to cope with!
Let's change the way we treat our
mother;
let's make our own beds, clean our rooms,
do our own cooking and all that...
give earth a break so she can turn
her energy within herself and grow:
she is a living being;
she can take good care of all of us
if we but do our part in life:
try understanding instead of fear:
a guaranteed excellent place to start.
A New World Beckons!
Go, run, barefoot
where there is no path;
do not strangle your feet
with industrially-made shoes
or anchor them in synthetics.
Swim and run nude freely
within nature's sacred realm:
laughingly leave the tattered clothes
which a society’s shame,
imposes on itself!
Like the sorcerer of the sky,
fearlessly lead violent storms
to clean and renew life on earth;
strengthen your faith in life’s lessons;
then simply teach those whose
desire is to learn the trade.
Simple lessons teach appreciation
of life on the organic level;
the goddess energy.
Within her we shall enter
a beautiful new world
prepared by those whose faith
already brought them along
this ancient and renewed path.
Vanishing Dream
The love of two:
a lasting state of bliss
or a vanishing dream;
as vanishing cream –
hiding the blemishes
until the rain of tears
and sweat of the brow
washes the illusion away?
What is this love
people fall into
with such passion
and fall out of
with equal passion
or hardly noticing
until the years pass–
and wondering why
takes too much effort?
What is true of love?
Where does it come from?
Is there a love machine
deep in the depths of space
sending its music
across the void?
Does it emanate from Earth,
oozing out of fissures?
Is it distributed wildly, aimlessly
by some little imp with a bow?
Does it come from a god
hidden in some heaven far away?
Want to know what I think?
What I’ve seen along the way?
Love only exists
if
someone decides to make it –
and that’s why it’s called
making love!
