The biggest problem I see is that it seems like you are basically doing everything yourself which is a BIG no no due to RL issues and resting issues; papa in the family did have mama and the aunts/uncles to help out. This is where the guild officers come in. The GM had a 2nd in command where he/she can keep in contact but at minimum email but instant message and even by phone would be nice so that when one needs to handle some things the other can come in and continue from the point that the other left off. These two people keep in constant contact so that there is no skip with the daily guild err stuff. We also have officers that handled specific events such as scheduling raids with other alliance raid officers. These event officers are an important member of the guild (more will be explained later). You can have other specific action guild officers but its up to you (again I’m not making you do anything, just wanna help out ex-officer to officer, not saying your not doing a bad job. Just we all need some help). Add a few general officers.

For my old guild we had:

The GM, 2nd in command (took a break), recruitment and event officers with assistance and me being the 5th officer, the general officer and webmaster (but I unofficially took over as second in command).

I’ll end it here seeing how you can just ask me if you want any suggestions and to finally list my guild charter.

Now this charter is freaking long.. I mean about eight pages. There is an explanation on top that I added to basically (duh) explain why I had this format. (I let other guilds and other gaming members use this and you can surely spread this around.. Don’t want it to go to waste.)

Guild charter

I see a lack of difference between the guild rank, which isn’t a bad thing. The guild I ended up after the merger had 4 ranks. New members, officers (level 60s basically for raiding), officers that shows an extraordinary care and helpfulness for the guild, and the GM a figurehead like the current British Queen. No power but just there cause its needed. Our ranking system is in the guild charter.. Somewhere in that jumble of words. I talked to another guild member and (don’t remember who) told me how frustrated you and another were that people didn’t check the website and I truly feel your “pain”. The officer in my old guild constantly make announcements about the site and how valuable it is since so much information can be put in it. Here is one example.

Here is a link to the guild site… I deleted my membership so you can’t see all the info such as the officer section of the forums (will explain later).

What I did was set up a time table to know what the best time and day is to help the even officer set up the events and raids with the alliance guilds. Here is a sample to what it looked like

Table link

Again a big disappointment since many people didn’t check the site or even read the charter.

Another thing: all major guild meetings are usually transcripted.. I couldn’t find the addon to copy the chat so I had to type it out.. Thought this was important so I typed it (I’m a fast typer but, heh, couldn’t keep up. No corrections were made except for the automatic Word stuff)

Link to that

I could have said these stuff in today’s meeting but I was typing the stuff out :).

Next page and final page.. I promise  :)
