This is set before the scene when they're all in civvies and Jack tells Jo he can't

move his legs. Oh, and he doesn't have a bullet in his back. It ruptured his spleen

and stayed there.

Jack woke up again and saw PJ watching him. He smiled. 'You didn't have to watch

over me, mate.'

PJ smiled. 'I wasn't watching over you.' He gestured to Jack's left. 'I'm watching

over her.'

Jack turned and stared to his left, where Constable Jo Parrish was curled up in the

plastic chair, fast asleep. Jack turned back to PJ. 'How long has she been here?'

'She hasn't slept in about 36 hours. I think she's been here about 5 or 6.'

Jack's eyes widened and he put his focus on Jo again. 'She looks cold,' he said quietly.

He began to reach down and PJ beat him to the blanket and placed it on her.

'Thanks, mate,' Jack said.

'No problem,' PJ said. 'Listen, I might just get a cup of coffee, I'll be back in

a minute. Will you be okay?'

'Sure,' Jack said, his eyes fixated to Jo.

PJ smiled and headed out.

Jack wondered if for some reason, he had been given a guardian angel. Because Jo

was as sure as hell acting like one. First she saved his career, by putting her own

on the line and now she was fast asleep when she wanted to watch over him.

'Jack!' she cried out in her sleep.

Jack put his hand out and placed it on hers. 'I'm here, Jo. I'm okay.'

His touch woke her and her eyes flickered open.

'I'm here,' he said softly again.

'How are you feeling?' she asked, wide awake now.

'I'm fine, Jo. A little sore, but fine.'

Jo nodded and took his hand in her own. 'We were worried about you.'

'Were you?' Jack asked, staring at her.

Jo blushed slightly and turned away, focusing her attention on the bottom of the

bed. 'Dr Carter says you'll be as right as rain in no time.' She glanced at her watch.

'I better go get ready. Shift starts in an hour.' She stood up and Jack put his hand

on her arm.

'Jo,' he said.

'Yeah?' she asked, leaning down slightly.

He tried to lean up and Jo leant down more, so their faces were staring at each other.

Jack moved slightly and kissed her gently. 'I love you.'

Then the next episode starts and I will go back to my reality world!
