Heart Releasing Meditation
An Exercise of "Changing Perspectives - The Journey is the Destination"
(copy right May 2002, Janice Harter)

This journey will take us into our hearts to find out what's in there.  The intent is to acknowledge and heal any residual pain that is in there.  Remember as you take this journey, you are safe and protected.  Our intent is NOT to relive the pain but rather to acknowledge it's existence and to begin to release it.  If you feel, in any way, that there are issues and pains you are just not ready to address, do not go through this exercise.  First, contact a trained psychiatric counselor or other Intuitive Counselor for assistance.  This exercise is a simple visualization of letting go of pain you may be unconsciously holding on to.  I wish you much success in this exercise.  If you have questions either before or afterwards, please email me!!!

Begin by entering a relaxed state using the steps outlined in "Simple Meditation."  This will be a visual exercise from a relaxed meditative state.

Once you are relaxed and have completed the white light visualization begin to imagine the way to your heart is through a door way, you are standing in the hall, just outside the door.  See the hallway, see the door and know that this door leads to a spiral stair case that leads down into your heart.  Imagine opening the door and seeing the spiral stair case that decends into a lower chamber.  Take note of your surroundings.  What does the chamber look like below?  What does the spiral stair case look like to you?  Take a deep cleansing breath and begin to slowly descend the spiral stair case.  As you take each step down, remind yourself that you are strong, you are courageous and you are ready to acknowledge and let go of any residual pain that is in your heart.  Continue taking one step at a time until you have decended all 30 steps.  When you get to the bottom of the stair case there is another door.  This is the door that leads directly to your heart.  What does the door look like?  Is it locked or chained?  Is it wood or metal?  Imagine in as much detail as you can what the door to your heart might look like.  If it is locked, do not panic.  Around your neck warm and glowing is the key.  If it is not locked, prepare yourself by placing your hand on the door knob or latch.  If it's locked, take the key from around your neck and place the key into the lock.  Take a deep breath in saying to yourself, I am strong.  I am courageous.  I can face and accept the pain that is just beyond the door.  I accept the contents behind the door and I am preparing to acknowledge and release it up and out into the light.

Now, open the door.  What do you see?  What do you feel?  What does it look like inside of your heart?  Sit down in the center of the room.  What do you feel?  If you are frightened, take a deep breath and imagine the white, sparkling liquid light flowing through you from your crown to your toes.  Imagine the white light emanating from the core of your body out and into the room.  Let the light flow down to the floor, to each corner of the room.  Now, with your will, push the light up to the ceiling, to every corner of the room.  See the white light permeating the room, see it shining and glimmering on the walls, the floor, on everything that is in there.  Imagine all the pain inside that room being surrounded by the white light.  Feel the white light moving and clearing the pain, pushing it up and out through the door, up the stair case and into the light.  Imagine the pain being sent to the Creator for healing.  Imagine you and this room that is your heart filled with light and love.  Feel the pain being released replaced with warmth and love.  Remain seated in the center of the room.  Feel your heart being filled with love from the Creator, the Source, from God or your Goddess.  Now, feel the warmth of love emanating from your heart, filling the room, filing the chamber outside, traveling up the staircase, all the while surrounding you.

Take a deep and cleansing breath.  On your out breath, say to yourself "I acknowledge my pain, I let it go to be healed by the Creator, I live in peace.   On your next in breath, say to your self, I am healed.  On your outbreath say, I have made room in my heart.  On your next in breath say to yourself, I am healed, I am whole.  On your out breath, say to yourself, I release all of the pain and vow never to hold it longer than necessary.

Stand up in the middle of the room.  How does it look now?  Is it lighter?  Is it brighter?  How do you feel right now?  Look to the door and make your way back to the chamber just outside of your heart.  What does the chamber look like now?  Make your way to the stair case and notice how it looks now?  Begin ascending the stair case keeping with you the bright white, sparkling liquid light.  Keep with you the feeling of warmth and love.  Make your way to the top of the stair case and reward yourself with feelings of love for having completed this journey.  When you are ready, take a deep breath and open your eyes.

Y
ou can repeat this meditation as often as you need to.  You may want to write about your experience.  The things you noticed before and after the exercise.  You may want to write about what you felt before, during and after the exercise.  The most important part of this exercise is keeping the feeling of love and warmth with you.  Keeping the white light with you for protection and knowing you are absolutely empowered to heal yourself.

Also note - this exercise is no replacement for dealing with critical emotional issues.  If you are comfortable in doing so, contact a counselor, cleric or friend to discuss any painful issues that you still feel remaining.  Know that this exercise is very helpful when used in conjuction with more formal methods of treatment.
