"G U R U K U L" The Concept

This is an endeavour to follow the teaching system, GURUKUL, which was once upon a time very prevalent in INDIA. "Guru" is the teacher and "kul" is his domain; here the teacher imparts knowledge to the students, and the students in return pay the teacher "dakshina" or the fees. The amount and the time of the payment of "dakshina" is decided entirely by the students themselves, and mostly not demanded by the Guru.

At this site, we are trying to follow this time proven system, so help us God! So site is entirely free.

The main purpose is the propagation of the art and sport form. This would be achieved by giving free lessons, sample video clips for each of the figures taught, advises and exchange of information. You are welcome to copy anything from here and use it, as you would like; however we request you not to alter its sanctity and integrity.

We definitely need support, thus we would:
a) Charge for the regular videocassette/CD, i.e. other than the standard learning video samples provided herewith.
b) Accept donations, which should be large enough to at least cover the transaction fees, of the banking industries.
c) Advertise against payment, on our site for product and services not necessarily related with the dance.
d) Accept "dakshina" or the fees from the satisfied people.

Our Philosophy
We are a small team, small people, but highly motivated to propagate this Dance-Sport, as a universal activity. We believe it has a philosophy, culture and tradition of its own. Just as the air we breathe is everywhere around, and we simply cannot lay a claim to it; such is the case with the Dance-Sport.

All we know is the goal to be achieved, and that is the propagation of this activity, and nothing else. We do not know if ever we are going to taste the fruits of our labour. But still we are going to strive ahead, and we will succeed.
