The artillery is the 8th Texas Horse Artillery that was formed to compliment the Cav.  The unit has an 1861 Parrot gun and 2 Mountain Howitzers in the field artillery.  The guns are reproductions made to the plans and specs given to us by the union battery in the area.  Each has a 3 inch bore with a 2 inch thick steel barrel.  The carriages are Prairie 2 style along with the limber.
