"Ron better not die!" "I think Neville will save the school!" Predictions. I hear them every week. In fact, I've even witnessed heated debates with many about the plot of the next Harry Potter book. This is a fun page I'm putting up for all of your ideas about Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix... before the real book comes out. Share your ideas and we will come back to see how close you were. Scroll down for more information about what you can send. Hey, you even might become the next Trelawney! Please e-mail your comments to [email protected]. Thanks!
There are TWO different ways you can share your ideas. Either answer the questions or write your own plot summary (nothing inappropriate please). Both will work excellently! Questions: Can you predict the answers to any of the following questions? E-mail me ([email protected]) any of your answers (and perhaps explanation)! 1. Who do you think is the next Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher? 2. Mundungus Fletcher: Good or Bad? Explain. 3. Make up the next sentence following: '... who was lying flat on his back in a flowerbed outside number four.' 4. Who will Harry have a crush on? 5. Who will make up the new Gryffindor Quidditch team? 6. Who will die??? 7. What is "Order of the Phoenix" ? 8. Where did Snape and Sirius go? 9. Where did Hagrid go? 10. I remember JK Rowling mentioning in an interview about the internet and somebody asked her if wizards used the internet. (If anybody has a link to this interview, it would be greatly appreciated). She said that they use something better than the internet. What could this possibly be? Plot Summary: Try summarizing what you think may be the plot to the next book.
Submissions: 1. Who do you think is the next Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher? "The New Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher is a woman which cuts out the possible nominees of Lupin, Sirius, and Fletcher. Taking look at the possible candidates, we have Mrs. Figg, Fleur Delacour, and a new character. It would certainly be cool to have Mrs. Figg as the new teacher. She has not been given any character except the fake identity of an old woman. On the other hand, Fleur Delacour wants desperately to teach at Hogwarts. But she is only, what? 18 years old? Thus, it is more likely for Hogwarts to find a more experienced teacher... i.e. Mrs. Figg." - Jahboh 2. Mundungus Fletcher: Good or Bad? Explain. "Regarding Mundungus Fletcher, he seems like a very obscure character. Mr. Weasley mentions (book 2) after he comes back to work that Fletcher tried to hex him behind his back. Yet, Dumbledore calls him part of the "old gang." I believe these are the only two times Fletcher is actually mentioned. There is a possibility that he could be a friend of Mrs. Figg as well as the wizard named Perkins. But, why would some person want to hex Mr. Weasley? This could get interesting..." - Jahboh 3. Make up the next sentence following: '... who was lying flat on his back in a flowerbed outside number four.' "Next, the question of what the next sentence is to "teenage boy lying in flowerbed." Obviously, this is either Harry, Dudley, one of Dudley's friends, Ron, or any other person who could possibly be spying on the Dursleys. Notice that this list is from most probable to least probable. Harry, no doubt is the most probable person to be outside on the hottest day. This is of course, considering the fact that Aunt Petunia is making him weed the garden. Most likely, he is taking a break and looking at the clouds and possibly thinking about what happened the previous year. This is a perfect setting for Rowling to go into a general summary of Harry's character, adventures, etc. Thus, the next sentence is most likely something about Harry. Yet, there is still the chance that Tom Riddle is the one spying due to Rowlings unpredictability." - Jahboh 4. Who will Harry have a crush on? "Ah... the question of who will have a crush on who. Personally, I have a bias towards Ron and Hermione. But, I certainly will not let that interfere with my job. (LOL. Direct take from Mock Trial.) J/K. My opinion? Anything but Hermione and Draco, please." - Jahboh 5. Who will make up the new Gryffindor Quidditch team? "I believe that Ron will join the Gryffindor Quidditch team as the keeper. This is because he is the only well-known character who can manage a broomstick. I mean, can anybody possibly imagine Hermione on a broomstick? The new captain will probably be either Angelina or Harry. Angelina seems to be a pretty popular person (mentioned more than all the other players except Harry, Fred, and George), she also tried to enter the Triwizard Tournament, and it's her last year. Thus, it makes her a possible candidate." - Jahboh 6. Who will die??? :Alright, who will die? Wow. I can't believe I'm trying to answer this question. Well, there are those I would like to see die, those I would feel indifferent if they died, those that I would cry if they died, and finally those that I would throw-the-book-out-the-window if they died. As Gandalf says in Lord of the Rings, "Some that die deserve life and others who are alive deserve death. Can you give it to them?" All right, that really does not answer the question... and it is because I have none. I just hope that I won't have to throw my book out of the widow. Translation: Hopefully, the trio, Dumbledore, Hagrid, Draco, Snape and James' friends (including Wormtail!) do not perish." - Jahboh 7. What is "Order of the Phoenix" ? "Order of the Phoenix. This sounds like "Order of Merlin." According to internet rumors most likely made up by fans, this is a group dedicated to bring down Voldemort. Since I have no better suggestion, I would have to be indifferent. But, for some reason my inner self keeps on seeing Elrond say his cheesy line for audience-members-who-have-obviously-failed-to-read-the-books, "You shall be the Fellowship of the Ring," except replaced with, "You shall be the Order of the Phoenix." Added to the grand music playing in the background." - Jahboh 8. "What could possibly be better than the internet?? Er... Well...I suppose there is probably something one could summon with a wand, just like summoning the knight bus." - Jahboh
