I got tough training in cytogenetics and its application to plant biosystemetics. In the last couple of decades we were involved with the cytogenetic screening of  sugarcane, polyploidy breeding of tea, radiobiology of barley, alein genetic transfers into the gross pea, species introgression in Brassica and characterization of the biobiversity resources of the Hindu Kush Himalyas. As a teacher I got the responsibility to teach genetics and biosystematics at the graduate levels. I guided scores of  students  in the diverse desciplines of genetics, palynology and ethnobotany for their graduate research. Being member of a number of the scientific societies I have published 25 research papers in the journals of international repute,  remained the author of a number of popular articles, scientific reports and also work on the editorial board of a scientific journal.
