{I}Two Months Later{/I}
Justin and Lance were slowly beginning to get used to fatherhood and no sleep once again. The twins woke them up every two hours and they felt like killing their uncles for not taking the babies once in a while. Diane Bass and Lynn Harliss showered their grandkids with gifts and would take them for a day to give Justin and Lance some rest time. Sometimes the guys had a hard time getting them to wake up from the magnificent sleep they were in, even when they made hamburgers on occasion.
JC and Britney were still going strong and were very happy. Once the press got news of the love affair, their privacy was a bit dampened. Justin laughed once when he read a poll in a teen magazine on what couple was cuter.
The fans loved seeing the babies. They were still getting used to the fact that their heartthrobs were taken but they were glad they found someone. Lance and Justin had shielded Emily and Robert from the limelight for a month before they had to go on TRL and no one was around to baby sit the twins. So when Carson announced the guys, JC and Chris came out first then Joey waddled out and finally, Lance walked out with his hand over Emily�s ear and her other ear on his chest and Justin was in the same position with Robert. Seeing them holding the babies protectively, the fans immediately quieted but that didn�t stop them from �ooooing� and �awwwing� at the precious little ones. Justin kept quiet about the real birth and when asked what Joey�s baby would be, Justin said �girl!� before anyone could stop him. He was so embarrassed, he just stared at his son for about three minutes before a fan in the audience said that her mother was having a girl and she was carrying it up high so that was a clue for the guys to go with what was said.
After the show, they signed autographs for fans and Lance and Justin had to hand the kids to Lonnie so they could sign without the babies in the way. Then, they went home to wait in the last few months before Joey would give birth.
JC wrinkled his eyebrows hearing a noise that was waking him up. Strange, he never woke up without someone having to physically wake him. He looked at the clock and saw that it was 3:20 in the morning. He realized the noise was soft crying in the room across from him. He sighed and got up. He went out into the hallway and saw no movement from the other rooms. He opened the door to the nursery and went to the cribs. He looked at each baby, dressed in pajamas, kicking their little legs and arms, faces red from the crying.
�Oh, hey you.� JC gently lifted Robert into his arms and patted his butt. �It�s okay, Uncle JC is here.� He walked over to Emily�s crib and was thankful they bought the cribs where you could lower the bars. He carefully got Emily into his other arm and cradled her. The crying went to whimpers but the babies still kicked their legs. JC turned on the light and struggled to get used to it, as did the two protesting little ones in his arms. He walked over to the changing table and gently lay them down. �I think daddy and dada are too tired to get up.� He said as he undid both their pajamas and lifted them up. He checked Robert�s diaper and saw that he needed a changing�a very good one. JC winced and checked Emily. She was fine, just probably hungry.
JC cleaned Robert up and put a fresh diaper on him. Immediately, the baby fell asleep but Emily still whimpered. JC picked Robert up carefully and placed him in the crib. He went back to Emily and picked her up.
�Let�s go get food, shall we?� He carried her out and took her downstairs. He went into the den and peered in at a sleeping Brianna in her playpen. She was laying on her stomach, her feet spread and one hand to her mouth. JC smiled and went into the kitchen and got the baby�s bottle, hoping he wouldn�t wake Brianna or anyone else.
JC rocked Emily and she made a little motion with her body.
�I know, sweetie, I know. You want food then you want to go back to sleep, right?� Emily just made a face. JC smiled. �You have Lance�s attitude, all right. I want it and I want it now.�
When the bottle was ready, he tested it and gave it to the baby. She drank at the bottle hungrily. When she was finished, JC burped her and took her back upstairs. He put her in the crib and smiled seeing she was fast asleep. He gently put a blanket over her and went to the door. He turned off the light and left the door open just a bit. He went back into his room and fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.

Lance walked downstairs the next morning, yawning. He went into the den and looked in at Brianna. She was just lying there, ready to cry.
�Hey you.� He picked her up and carried her into the kitchen, where Joey, Chris and Justin were eating breakfast. �Look who�s up.�
Joey looked up and smiled. �There�s my Brianna. Did you sleep good honey?� He took her from Lance, kissed her cheek and gave her some of his toast.
JC walked down and stretched. �Hey.�
�Hey, Jace. You sleep good?�
�Kind of. The twins woke me up.� JC said to Justin.
�They did? I�m sorry, JC, you should have told us.� Lance said with a smile.
�No, I wanted you guys to get some sleep. I took care of them. Robert needed a change and Emily was hungry.�
�Thanks, C. That means a lot.� Lance rubbed Justin�s shoulders.
JC smiled and got his breakfast. Pretty soon, crying pierced the air and Justin was about to get up.
�Hey, let me.� Chris said.
�Thanks Chris.�
�I�ll go too.� Joey gave Brianna to JC and followed.
Lance, JC and Justin smiled at each other. They needed less than three weeks to fully prepare.
Upstairs, Joey and Chris went up to the nursery and went in to sooth the crying twins. Joey got Emily while Chris got Robert.
Joey was smiling at the baby. �Can you believe these came out of Justin?�
�I know. Seems like only yesterday he was a fourteen-year old kid, ready to take on the group.�
�Remember when he and Lance met? There was chemistry there. I don�t think they knew it yet.�
�Not until Justin was watching Lance practice and saw what he was missing.�
Joey smiled as he remembered the day they all met Lance.

Lynn smiled and opened the door for the two people at her porch.
�Hello, I�m Lynn Harliss, you must be Mrs. Bass?�
�It�s Diane. And this is Lance.�
�Hi Lance, how are you?� She shook the boy�s hand. He had such feminine features.
�I�m fine Ma�am, thank you.� His deep voice rumbled politely.
�Wow, your voice is incredible. Come on in, the boys are waiting.�
�Mama, I�m scared.� Lance whispered to his mom.
�It�s all right, honey, you�ll be fine.�
She ushered her son inside and they went into the living room where three boys were sitting. The boy on the couch looked up and smiled from his book. He stood up and went over to Lance.
�Hey, I�m Joey.� He stuck out his hand.
Lance shook it. �I�m Lance. Nice to meet you Joey.�
Joey was surprised that such a small boy could have a big voice. Another boy stood up with a sandwich in hand.
�Hey, I�m Chris. Nice to meet you Lance.�
Lance pretended he didn�t notice Chris was talking with his mouth full and just shook his hand.
JC read the last article in his magazine and stood. �Hey Lance, I�m Josh, but everyone calls me JC.�
�Hey JC. My real name is James but everyone calls me Lance.�
They all laughed and Lance blushed. Lynn smiled then frowned.
�JC, where�s Justin?�
JC looked around. �I don�t know. He was here a minute ago. Justin! The new kid is here!�
�I�ll be right down!� Justin called.
A minute later, Justin ran downstairs and over to them. Lance had just figured out he had seen JC from MMC and when he realized that Justin was Justin from the MMC, he was shocked. He had had a crush on the boy since he first saw him on television. He stayed locked up in his room for a week wondering why he liked boys now instead of girls.
�Hey I�m Justin.�
�I�m Lance.� He shook his hand and couldn�t let go. Justin just looked at his hand before Lance realized what was going on and pulled his hand back. �So um�what do you guys want me to sing?�
�Anything you�d like, dear.� Lynn said with a smile.
Lance looked at his mom and she gave him a reassuring look. Lance took a deep breath and began to sing the National Anthem. He kept his eyes shut not wanting to see their reactions. When he finished, he opened his eyes and was greeted with not one, but six smiles in the room.
�I think we�ve got our bass. Welcome to the group Lance.� Chris shook his hand and, much to Lance�s surprise, pulled him in for a hug.
Joey was next. �I knew it the moment you said your first sentence to me.� He hugged him tightly.
Lance blushed. �Thanks.� He turned to JC, who gave him a hug.
�You�ll make this group proud, Lance.�
Lance pulled away and smiled then looked at Justin, who�s ear-splitting grin made Lance smile, showing off his pearly whites.
�Welcome to the group Lance! You�re our final piece to the puzzle!� Justin pulled him in for a tight hug and Lance hugged him back, trying not to breath his scent too much.
He pulled away and looked at all of the guys. �Thank you so much. I know we are going to be a hit.�

Joey shook his head at the memory and looked down. �I think we should get these little ones to their daddies before Justin and Lance think we are hogging them.�
Chris laughed. �Okay. Come on.�
They went downstairs and went into the kitchen.
�Daddy!� Brianna grinned seeing Joey.
�Hey baby girl.� Joey handed Emily to Lance, who was the closest, and sat down in the chair. His feet were exhausted. �Justin, Justin, Justin, how did you deal with this?�
�What?� Justin glanced at Robert before gently putting him up so his head was on his shoulder.
�My feet hurt!�
�Well at least you only got one.�
Joey just shook his head.
Later that day, Britney walked up to the porch and got the mail. She saw a few from fans and some junk mail. She heard footsteps and turned and smiled.
�Diane!�
�Britney!�
Diane hugged the girl. Stacy and James walked up and Britney hugged them.
�Come on in.� They walked into the house. �Lance! Justin! Guess who�s here?� Britney called.
Lance and Justin walked out and smiled.
�Mom! Dad! Stacy!� Lance walked over and hugged them all.
�Oh Justin, let me see you. Wow, you got your figure back! What�s your secret?� Stacy said.
Justin laughed. �Exercise and lots of dancing.�
Stacy smiled. �Now let me see my niece and nephew! I have rights!�
Justin laughed. �Come in, they�re in the kitchen.�
Lance, Britney, Diane and James followed. Stacy had taken both the babies from JC and sat down in a chair.
�They are so adorable! Hi. It�s so nice to see you again.� She kissed each tiny nose and they made cooing sounds.
Justin wrapped his arms around Lance�s waist and put his head on his shoulder. Lance leaned into the touch.
�Hey, wait right there.� Chris handed Brianna to JC and ran upstairs. He grabbed the camera, made sure there was still tape left and went back downstairs to film Stacy with the babies. Lance and Justin smiled and watched. Joey beamed and Brianna pointed.
�Baby.�
�Yeah, that�s a baby Brianna.� JC said with a smile.
�Two!�
�Two babies? Wow!�
Everyone laughed. There was a knock at the door.
�I�ll get it.� Justin said. He walked over to the door and opened it. He stopped seeing Joey�s parents. �Hey. I haven�t seen you guys in forever.�
�Hi Justin, is Joey here?�
�Yeah, hold on.� He went into the kitchen and whispered something in Joey�s ear.
Joey frowned and Justin helped him up. Joey walked out into the living room. Chris looked at Justin.
�His parents are here.�
�His parents haven�t come since we found out.� Chris started to go. Lance put a hand on his arm to stop him. Chris nodded and let it go.
In the living room, Joey sat on the couch next to his parents.
�Honey, I�m sorry we weren�t around.�
�You guys knew. I called you�you never came.�
�We�ve just been so busy.� His mom excused.
Joey nodded. �I just wish you would have come. Brianna was wondering where her grandma and grandpa were.�
His mom hugged him. �We�re here now, we�re here.�
Joey cried softly into her shoulder.

Joey sat down on the chair and smiled watching the guys dancing. When they did the floor hump, he sighed mournfully. He rubbed his stomach and looked down at the car seats next to him. Emily was awake and looking around while Robert slept peacefully. Joey carefully got Emily and held her up so she could see her daddies dance.
�Is that daddy dancing? Huh?�
When the guys finished, Lance walked over and sat next to him, taking a huge gulp of water.
�How�s she doing?� He asked wiping away some milk that had appeared from her mouth.
�She�s doing fine. Just looking around.�
Lance smiled and tickled the baby�s tummy. Justin beamed from the other side of the room.

Later that night, Lance woke up to crying. He sighed and got up. He walked out into the hall and went into the nursery. He looked inside and saw Emily crying softly.
�Hey sweetie.� He picked her up and held her close. �Come on, let�s get you a bottle.� He carried her downstairs and into the kitchen. He got the bottle made for her and sat down in the recliner and stuck the nipple into her mouth. She started sucking happily and tapped the bottle with her little hand. Lance gently rocked her and hummed a song to her. She looked up at him with her huge aqua eyes. Lance kissed her forehead and she squinted and kept drinking her bottle. When she finished, Lance burped her. He rocked her again until she fell back asleep. He carefully stood up and took her back upstairs. He gently lay her in her crib and put a blanket over her. He left the room and went back to his room to see Justin awake and smiling. Lance smiled back and crawled into bed with him and kissed him.
�I love you.�
�I love you too.�
They fell back to sleep in each other�s arms.
The next morning, Lance was awakened by JC.
�Guys, Joey�s water broke.�
�Really? Oh, Justin, wake up, Joey�s in labor.�
Justin finally woke up and they all got dressed to get ready. Chris helped Joey to the car while JC got the camera and Brianna. Lance got the babies, kept them in their night clothes, got some clothes for them and carried their car seats to the car. Justin followed calling Britney to ask her to watch Brianna and the twins. When he got into the car next to Joey and rubbed his back, he called Chris�s mom and Joey�s parents. They drove to Britney�s and Justin and Lance got out. Lance got Brianna and Robert�s car seat while Justin got Emily. Britney let them in and once Brianna was entertained with a toy and the twins were all right, they all left while Britney told them she�d meet them at the hospital soon once her mom got there.
The boys then left and got to the hospital. Joey was settled in while everyone else, except Chris, waited in the waiting room.
Two hours later, Joey asked to see Justin. Justin walked into the hospital room and over to Joey.
�Hey.�
�Hey.�
�You�re finally here. You�re going to have your baby.�
Joey smiled. �Justin, I love you guys so much. Thank you.�
�For what?� Justin crinkled his eyebrow.
�For being there. For everything. When I found out about Brianna, my leg, Chris, just�everything.�
�Joey, if you�re dying, I hate you.� Justin said with tears in his eyes.
�I�m on drugs, infant, let me revel in the moment.�
Justin laughed and hugged his friend. Soon, Kelly arrived with flowers.
�Kelly, remember when you were in labor and told me to try going into labor?�
Kelly blushed. �Kind of.�
�I�m so sorry I was so peppy.�
Kelly laughed. �I forgive you, Joey. I forgave you as soon as the baby came out.�
�So Chris is going to feel the wrath I felt?�
�Hell yes.�
Joey smiled. Kelly shook her head.
Another hour later, Britney arrived looking pale.
�What�s up?� Lance said, concerned.
�Um�was there an MTV crew when Justin came to the hospital?�
�Not until the next day. Why?� JC asked wrapping an arm around her.
�Because there are a whole bunch of reporters and junk outside. I just got interviewed! They asked me how much he was dilated! Lance, I did NOT need to go through that.�
�Relax Britney, it�s all right. Besides he�s at 8.�
�I said 6.�
�Fair enough. Did they want anything else?�
�Just wanted to see pictures of the twins.�
Lance buried his head between his knees while Britney and JC patted his back.
Justin walked out and raised an eyebrow. When Britney explained it, Justin rolled his eyes, pulled JC along and they went down to the lobby. Lance raised his eyebrow and turned on the small tv they had to see Justin and JC walk outside.
�Justin, how�s Joey doing?�
�Where�s Lance?�
�How are you guys handling this?�
�Joey�s doing good, he�s almost ready and Lance is inside.�
�We are handling this with positive determination and we are rooting Joey on.� JC said.
�Where are the grandparents?�
�They are on their way.� Justin nodded.
�When do you think you guys will tour again?�
�We should begin touring again in six months. We�ve been working on a new album and we have plenty ideas.� JC said.
Chris walked out and whispered something in JC�s ear.
�We have to go back in now, sorry.� JC said with a smile and pulled Justin along.
Inside the hospital room, Joey was pushing with all his might while Chris coached him and JC filmed the whole thing.
�Joey, I just need one final push and the baby will be out. Okay�push!� Joey pushed as hard as he could and he fell back and heard crying. �Congratulations, it�s a girl.�
Doctor Peters handed the screaming baby to Joey and Joey wrapped her into her arms. �Oh my gosh. You�re so beautiful.� Joey looked up at Chris. �I love you.�
�I love you too.� Chris kissed his forehead
JC beamed as he filmed. He walked outside still with the camera. He showed everyone the birth and tears fell down their cheeks.
�It�s a girl. I knew it!� Justin cheered and everyone laughed and hugged each other. The NSYNC family was complete.

Six months later�
Justin breathed deeply and waved to the cheering crowd. �Hello! Welcome to the New Age Tour. It�s been a while since we�ve been here.� He smiled as people screamed.
JC walked up and put an arm around his friend�s shoulders. �Well we want to sing an old song and it happens to be our favorite.�
�But first�we need bring some people out.� Lance said walking up. �Britney, Kelly?�
Britney walked out, smiling and carrying two eight-month old babies in her arms. Justin took the baby boy and Lance got the girl. Kelly walked out carrying a six-month old baby in her arms and she handed her to Chris. A little girl walked over and Joey picked her up.
Lance walked to the front of the stage. �I�d like to introduce to you, Emily Britney Timberlake-Bass.�
Everyone awed. Justin walked over with his son. �Here�s Robert Joshua Timberlake-Bass.�
Chris was next. �This is Melanie Anne Kirkpatrick-Fatone.�
�And this is Brianna Fatone.� Joey said with a smile.
�Okay, now that everyone has been shown off, it�s time for the song.� Justin said with a smile.
The music started and Justin started singing.

Lance�s jaw dropped and the guys all laughed and the fans cheered some more.
Lance walked over to Chris and looked at Melanie. �You didn�t tell him that.� He whispered. He looked at Chris. �Did she just WINK at me?�
Chris smiled but didn�t say anything as Lance walked over and carefully kissed Justin with the two babies in between them.
