�So Will, famous writer of all.�
He blushed and Jake laughed. �You will be famous, Will! Just make sure I�m the star when the movie is out!� Bella said striking a pose.
Will threw a chicken bone her way and she quickly got out of the way. Sarita had to spit out her drink to keep from choking from her laughing. Jake shook her head and leaned into her boyfriend�s embrace.
�Will, I want a copy of your writing.� Sarita said with a smile.
�No, it�s really sad. You�ll start crying and�no.�
�Come on! I need to read depressing stuff, it makes me happy.�
�Depressing stuff makes you happy?� Jake gave her an inquisitive look.
�No, nothing like that. Happy and cheery is just too boring. Depressing things make you think.�
�Hmm.� Scout put a finger on his chin.
�And I have said too much.� Sarita shook her head.
�No, no, I�ll go get the story. Bella, pull out the tissues. Jake, get the pillow.�
Bella and Jake rushed off.
�We�ve been through this before.� Hamilton shook his head sadly at last year�s events. Bella wouldn�t stop crying and they finally had to make her watch Happy Gilmore. It took Jake weeks to convince her not to be a golfer.
Sarita smiled and took the story from Will when he got down. 15 minutes later got one crying reader, a soothing friend, another handing over the tissues and three guys just shaking their heads and getting the chocolate out.

�I think Will has a crush.�
�You think?� Bella raised an eyebrow.
�He sure hides it!� Jake shook her head and headed inside.
�Yeah but�does she like him?� Bella walked after her.
�Maybe.� Jake tossed the remains of her shake into the trash.
�Is she ready for someone? I mean she is pregnant.�
�Yeah by a rapist.� Jake flinched. Her rapist also but she wasn�t pregnant with his baby.�
�Jake��
�No, I�m okay. I�m fine, really. Just�I don�t know. I think of a few years down the line if the baby tries to find her�I don�t know.�
�Jake, we don�t know what is happening. We know she can�t keep it but we don�t know how she feels about it.�
�I don�t want to assume anything.� Jake sighed and sat on the couch.
Bella sat next to her and sighed. �You know�when I was 5 years old, I imagined having two best friends and when one friend was hurting, the other friend and me would be trying to figure out what we could do to help the other friend.�
Jake smiled and leaned her head on the side of the couch. �Are you saying we are living your imagination?�
�Yeah�but my imagination was more about Barbie�s and hair. I never expected rape and pregnancy.�
Jake twirled her hair. She had let it grown down to her shoulders in the past few months. �Me neither.�
Bella didn�t say anything more.

�Hey Sarita.�
Sarita smiled. �Hey Will.�
He sat next to her on the porch. �This is where you live?�
�Yeah.� She curled her knees underneath her chin.
�So��
Sarita looked at him. �Sooo.� They laughed.
�Um�how long have you known Jake and everybody?� she asked.
Will sighed. �Wow um�I�ve known Bella since, like, forever and I have known Scout, Jake and Hamilton for�almost 3 years.�
�Cool. How did you all meet?�
He smiled. �Rawley Boys. We all went there, except Bella.�
�And Jake?�
Will laughed. �You don�t know?!�
Sarita looked at him confused.
�Oh�God. Sarita, you better get a couple of cokes and sandwiches. This could be a while.�
Sarita nodded and went inside. Will laughed and waited. When she came back, he proceeded to tell all about the adventures of Rawley and Sarita couldn�t stop laughing, including the part where �What�s Jake doing in a dress?� She nearly spit her soda out at that part.
�Scout really said that?�
�Yeah then we all went home the next day and Jake went home and we all didn�t see each other until two weeks later.�
�It must have been hell without them.�
�You couldn�t imagine. Every time we�re apart, it�s like losing a limb.�
Sarita smiled warmly. �What�s the scariest adventure you guys went on?�
Will shrugged. �Um�when we were 16, I guess a year ago, Jake got a crazy idea to go to the mountains. Well I was supposed to be responsible and turn the car off. We returned from looking for a cabin two hours later to our car at the bottom of a cliff.�
�Oh no!� Sarita laughed.
�Well Hamilton went down to go see if he could get help but then he hurt his ankle. And Jake got lost in the woods.�
�Like she did a few days ago?�
�Yeah, only this time, she didn�t come back for two days.�
�No!� Sarita was shocked.
�Yeah but Scout found her, he seems to always find her.� He shrugged. �Well Bella finally, much to our chagrin, found a place to call home and we got airlifted off the mountain. To this day if you mention the trip to Jake again, chances are she�ll ignore you for�oh, three weeks. You didn�t see her two months ago when I made that mistake.�
Sarita smiled. �Hormones and anger don�t mix well.�
�Right.�
Sarita looked out across the road. �Hey there�s Melanie.� She stood up and Will stood after her.
�Hey, there�s another police car with her.�
�There�s never somebody with her unless something bad has happened.�
They looked at each other and ran to the front. The police officer ran up to them.
�Sarita, did you get my message?�
�No, I�ve been at Jake�s, I just got home and Will and I were talking, what happened?�
�Honey�he got out, he�s escaped.�
�What?�
�We�re doing everything we can to find him. I�m sorry honey.�
�I�I�m scared.�
�I know.�
Will just looked shocked. �I�I have to warn Jacqueline.�
�Go ahead, Will, we�ll stay with her.�
�Okay. Call me.�
Sarita nodded and Will ran off.

Jake sat at Friendly�s and tapped her foot. She heard the door and turned to see Will. She immediately knew something was wrong.
�Will?�
Will ran to her. �Jake! I have to tell you something but you won�t like it.�
�What is it?�
�The guy who raped you�he escaped Jake, he�s gone.�
�W�what?� Jake was shocked and scared.
�I�m sorry Jake, I don�t know.�
�I�I�oh God Will, I�m so scared.�
�I know. Scout!�
Scout walked out. �What�s going on?�
�Call Bella and Ham, we have a problem.�
Scout nodded and ran to the phone.
�Oh God Will! What if he comes after me?�
�Sh, it�s okay, I�m here.� He hugged her tightly.
�What if he gets me? Oh God the baby.�
�He won�t get you. Hamilton, Scout, Bella and I will protect you.�
Jake didn�t say anything, she just cried.

Will looked up as Bella walked downstairs.
�Is she asleep?�
�Finally. You guys�if he�s escaped, he might want to come after her.�
�Did he tell her anything about while he�� Scout didn�t finish his sentence just covered his face.
�No. He just said if she wanted it the easy way or the hard way.� Bella said softly.
�Damn it!� Hamilton punched the wall and withdrew his fist.
Will, Bella and Scout jumped.
�Hamilton, we�ll protect her all we can. The police are doing their best to find him.� Bella said.
�If they don�t find him before I do-� He couldn�t finish because upstairs Jake called his name. �I�m coming baby!� He looked at his friends and ran upstairs.
Bella, Will and Scout looked at each other.
