Summary: Jake is raped one night and later finds out she is pregnant. But is the baby Hamilton�s child�or the person who raped her?

Jake lay on the couch watching a news special on the television. She was alone in the house, save for the baby inside her stomach. Hamilton was at the store getting her some food that she was craving and the dean and his wife were at the school.
Jake sat up and rubbed her stomach. Her mind started wandering�
�I have no one.�
What if Hamilton left me?
�The baby belongs to him.�
What if this baby was his?
�My friends turned away�I thought I could trust them.�
What if Bella, Scout and Will hated me?
�I�m staying with a police officer.�
What if I was forced to stay with someone other than my family?
During these thoughts, Jake started crying.
�Oh God, no�no, don�t think about this.�
The door opened and she heard Hamilton�s voice.
�Jake? Honey, what�s wrong?� She looked up as he rushed over and wrapped his arms around her. She leaned into him, crying.
�What if you had left me? What if I had no one?�
�Oh Jake�honey stop, don�t think about that.� He kissed the top of her head. �I�d never leave you. I love you.�
Jake held onto him. �Don�t ever leave me, Hamilton. I need you.�
Hamilton just held her and rocked her back and forth.

Bella watched the rain clouds forming as her and Jake sat at the gas station.
�It�s going to rain, soon.�
�Seems like it. I better get home.�
�You want a ride?�
�No, I�m okay. Thanks for everything Bella.� She hugged her friend and Jake walked away. Bella looked back up at the rain clouds and went back into the house.
Jake walked back towards Hamilton�s house as rain started coming down.
�Oh great. I�m not going to make it.� She wrapped her jean jacket around herself tightly and looked to her left and right. She bit her lip and headed into the woods, trying to avoid the lightning.
Jake noticed it was getting darker as she took each step. She could barely see where she was going. She kept her memory straight and headed straight and to the left. As the rain poured down and the lightning clashed, she ran further and further. She looked behind her as owls hooted and a wolf sounded. She licked her lips and kept running. She turned around and ran backwards. She turned back around and ran faster as more rain fell onto her soaked body.
Suddenly she tripped over a vine and fell down. She groaned and tried to stand but she was too tired. She held her stomach and looked up as the rain continued to fall.

�Bella, is Jake with you?�
�No, she�s not Hamilton, didn�t she come home?�
�No, I haven�t seen her all night. Do you think��
�No! Don�t say it. Um�call Scout and Will, we�ll look for her.�
�Okay.� Bella hung up and called them.

Scout decided to take the woods. He went inside and looked around.
�Jake? Jake!�
�Scout?� he heard her voice.
�Jake!� He ran towards her and found her huddled up under a tree.
�Scout�I�m cold.�
Scout took off his sweatshirt and put it around her. �Come on, sweetie.� He lifted her up and got his cell phone. �Hey Will, I found her, she�s okay.� He held her shoulders and led her out of the woods.
�Hey Jake.� Will ran over and hugged her. �Come on, you got a worried friend and a worried boyfriend waiting.�
�I�m sorry, I got scared, and I didn�t know where I was going.�
�No, it�s okay, Jake, we�re not mad.�
�Hey Jake!� a couple guys said passing by.
�Hey.�
�Are you okay?�
She nodded and they left.
They walked to the garage station and Bella hugged her.
�Are you okay?�
�Yeah.�
Hamilton ran out. �Jake.� He hugged her tightly and Jake buried her face in his chest.
�I�m sorry, I�m so sorry. I didn�t know where to go, it was so dark.�
�It�s okay, baby girl. Come on, let�s get you some dry clothes.� They walked inside.
Bella, Scout and Will watched them go.
Inside, Jake got all clean and into a pair of sweats and a sweatshirt.
�Sometimes�I wonder why everyone still cares about me. Why would they want me around?�
�Why do you think that?� Hamilton asked her.
Jake sat back on Bella�s bed. They were in her room sitting face to face on the bed. �I don�t know. I guess I feel like I do everything wrong. I didn�t fight back.�
�Yes, you did. Jake�you�re a fighter. You tried to stop him, I know you did. God, you don�t want to know how much I want to go find him and just rip his skull out!�
Jake smiled and looked down.
�Jake, look at me.� She stared into his eyes. �I love you. Nothing is ever going to change that. You know this, right?�
�I know.�
�Sometimes, I wake up at night and I walk into your room and watch you sleep�I know it sounds psychotic but�I just watch you and�I think about that night.� Jake looked up at him confused. �You know I remember how�we were supposed to be together�we were supposed to go to my house�my parents weren�t there. We were supposed to drink hot chocolate, watch movies and eat so much popcorn we could burst.� He smiled getting a smile from his girlfriend. �And I remember�how you called and said that Will needed you to get something�I wanted to say no, come over but I let you go.�
�Hamilton��
�No. If I�if I had gotten you to come over, maybe it wouldn�t have happened.�
Jake scoffed. �Hamilton�you couldn�t have known. I tell everyone that everyday but no one hears me. It isn�t your fault this happened. He did this, not you.�
�I feel like I could have stopped it.�
�Hamilton, I want you to feel something.� She took his strong hand into her small, soft ones and placed it on her stomach close to her bottom side. Hamilton smiled feeling the baby kick. �Even though we�re young, I feel like something good has come out of this.�
�Our baby.�
�Our daughter.� She corrected with a smile.
Hamilton leaned close and kissed her softly before hugging her.

Bella opened the door and smiled. �Hi.�
�Hi, is Jacqueline here?�
�You must be Sarita.�
The girl shrugged and smiled. �Guilty.�
�Come on in.� Bella let the girl in and led her into the living room. �Jake�s in the shower right now. Would you like something to eat? A drink?�
�No, thank you.�
�So, sit down. How are you?�
�I guess I�m okay. Jacqueline told me I could come by. I really wanted to talk to her and I wanted to meet her friend Bella.�
�Well, that�s me.� Bella laughed.
�It�s nice to meet you, Bella. I have heard great things about you.�
�All lies.� She said quickly getting a laugh.
�Bella, who�s at the door?� Jake called from upstairs.
�It�s Sarita!�
�Okay, I�ll be right down.�
Sarita smiled.
�So um�I don�t mean to pry but what will you do with the baby?�
Sarita sighed. �I�m going to give him up. It�s�it�s too hard.�
�I know. It must be. But don�t worry, you have Jake to talk to.�
�Yeah. I thought she lived with her boyfriend?�
Bella was confused. �Oh! Yeah but their shower isn�t working so I got the job of having Hamilton and Jake taking the shower.�
�Ouch.�
Bella smiled and heard footsteps as Jake walked downstairs.
�Hey!�
�Hey Jacqueline.� Sarita stood up and hugged her. Jake sat down next to Bella.
�How are you?�
�Fine. I wanted to see how you were doing. I talked to Hamilton on the phone and he said not too good.�
�Yeah, it�s hard but he helps and so do my friends.� Sarita bit her lip.
�Sarita, I�m sorry, it must be hard for you. But we�re here and we won�t abandon you.�
�I�m just thankful Jake has someone.�
Jake smiled softly and Bella looked out the window. �Oh Scout and Will are on their break. Mind if I invite them over?� Jake looked at her weirdly. Bella laughed knowing the answer. Sarita shook her head and smiled. �Okay.� Bella stood up and went to greet the guys.
Scout and Will walked in.
�Hey Jake.�
�Hey!� Jake jumped up and hugged him.
�Will, Scout, this is Sarita, Sarita, Will Krudski and Scout Calhoun.�
�It�s nice to meet you both.� She shook their hands.
�You too.� Scout said with a smile.
When Will and Sarita looked at each other, it was clear to Jake and Bella what was going on. Scout seemed oblivious.
