�Us? No! Never!� Bella and Sarita shook their hands and made little motions.
Jake just nodded and started rolling up the string while holding onto the first letter, not noticing the secret smiles Sarita and Bella gave each other.
�I can�t believe she didn�t suspect a thing!� Sarita said after Jake was out of earshot.
Bella shrugged. �Hey, it�s Jake!�
Sarita nodded and then Scout walked over.
�Hey Scout.� Sarita smiled.
�Hey. Here Bella.� Scout handed her a rose.
�Aw thanks.�
�I�ve come to take you to dinner.� He smiled widely.
Bella and Sarita looked at each other and back at Scout.
�Scout, I didn�t know you�d have anything like this planned for us.�
�There are lots of things you don�t know about me.�
Bella smiled softly. Sarita rolled her eyes.
�Sarita, do you mind terribly if I whisk Miss. Banks away.�
Sarita mocked curtsied. �Not at all.�
Bella looked at her friend and then Scout led her away. Sarita shook her head.

Bella looked across the lake of Rawley Boys.
�Where are the students?�
�Oh I convinced them all to stay around school.�
�And they went for it?� Bella raised her eyebrow.
�Will had something to do with it.�
Bella just smiled. She turned her head and saw that the string had been taken off the lake. �Guess Jake got here before us?�
�Like I thought, she�s fast.�
Bella raised her eyebrow and sat down on the blanket Scout had laid out. She took this time to study him. The setting sun made his skin look golden and his hair sparkled. He was in a nice blue dress shirt and tan slacks. He had his hair parted and away from his face. Bella smiled watching him and blushed when she got caught.
�What? Do I have something on my face?�
Bella shook her head. �No.�
Scout reached over and stroked her hair away from her face and kissed her soft lips. They pulled away and Bella went to get the food out. She laughed seeing home made barbecue chicken along with mashed potatoes, green beans and rolls, with sparkling cider and wine glasses. �Scout this is amazing.�
�No, you are.� Bella looked up at him and smiled shyly. Scout laughed softly. While Bella wasn�t looking, Scout watched the sun�s rays brighten up her hair. The new dress she had bought covered her knees and showed off legs that were always hidden. The dress had spaghetti straps and was a baby blue color.
�You look beautiful.�
Bella blushed. �Thanks. They convinced me not to change.�
�I�m glad.�
Bella smiled at him.
After they finished eating, Scout stood up and reached for her hand. Bella laughed and stood up. Scout wrapped his arms around her and she put her arms around his neck.
�May I have this dance?�
�You may.� She said softly.
They started to dance and Bella started singing.
