Bella sat next to Sarita and rubbed her hands together. Rebecca came into the living room with some ice tea. She gave a glass to Bella and Sarita
�How have you been, sweetie?�
She shrugged. �Fine. I�m seeing someone now and he�s like amazing. He supports me and is always there. He�s like the person I�ve been waiting for all my life.�
�That�s good. Bella, how did you two meet?�
�Oh, my best friend got raped by the same person and uh�her and my friend met a month ago at the same restaurant and we�ve all been friends since.�
�Oh.� Rebecca looked at her sister. �The baby?�
�I�m giving him up. It�s um�for the best.�
Rebecca nodded.
�How�re mom and dad?�
�Their okay. Mom talks about you sometimes but�I don�t know if I ask her why, she just�ignores me. Dad, I know he wishes he could help but�I don�t know. I guess mom thinks you meant to get raped and pregnant.�
�No one deserves this.� Bella said softly.
�I know. I tried telling momma that but she wouldn�t listen. I wish I could make her change her mind, Sarita.�
Sarita smiled. �Guess I was right.�
Bella looked out the window and stood up. �Oh God, Jake!�
�What�s wrong?� Sarita was alarmed.
Bella ran out of the house and opened the back door. She pulled Jake into her arms. �I�m sorry, I�m so sorry.�
�I thought you left me. I thought someone hurt you!� Jake sobbed into her shoulder.
�I�m sorry, oh God, I�m sorry. I�m so sorry.� Bella rocked her side to side while Sarita and Rebecca watched.
�She had a nightmare.� Sarita said softly. �This is how I was. She still hasn�t gotten over it.�
�You never can.� Rebecca looked at her. �What happened?�
�She thought we left her alone. She thought no one cared about her anymore. She thought we wanted her to die. That�s what she thought, her boyfriend�s not here, that�s what she thought.�

While Sarita drove home, Bella sat in the back, comforting Jake and apologizing for leaving her there. Jake was so upset, she was in a trance and just stared.
�She thought we left her, damn it!� Sarita sighed.
�We didn�t mean to Jacqueline, we didn�t mean to.�
Jake glanced up at her and then away.
�We�re almost home. We�ll see Hamilton.�
�Hamilton.� Jake finally said something.
�Can I feel the baby?�
�No.�
Sarita and Bella looked at each other. They. Screwed. Up.

�She�ll be fine here, right?� Sarita asked looking at Jake, where she lay in Hamilton�s bed.
�She better be, God we�re the worst friends ever.� She grabbed her hand and dragged her to Rawley Boys. They went through the halls and finally found Scout concentrating on studying. Sarita went to him and put her hand down. He looked at her.
�What�s wrong?�
�We left Jake alone for 10 minutes and she thought we left her. Where�s Will?�
�He�s at the dock.�
�Okay, I know you�re at school but you have to go to Hamilton�s.�
�Did you leave her alone again?� Sarita nodded and Scout sighed. He got up, grabbed his stuff and ran out of the school.
Bella ran to the docks and over to Will.
�I�m an idiot.�
�Why?�
�Remember when I suggested to Sarita about seeing her sister?�
�Yeah.�
�Well we took Jake and she fell asleep in the car and we left her but we took a bit longer and�she had a nightmare and when she woke��
�Oh Bella.� Will sighed. �Where is she?�
�I didn�t mean to! God I�m a bad friend. She�s at Hamilton�s. Where�s Hamilton?�
�He�s talking to Finn inside. Man I gotta go see if she�s okay.�
�I am in so much trouble.� Bella said as Will ran off.
She met Sarita half way and they ran into Hamilton.
�Whoa, what�s up?�
�We totally screwed up! We left Jake alone in the car for like 10 minutes and she had a nightmare and woke up and we weren�t there!�
Hamilton sighed. �Where is she?�
�At your house.�
Hamilton ran. Bella and Sarita tried to think of a way to get the guys to know they were sorry.

�Is she okay?� Will asked Hamilton.
Hamilton looked up from cradling his girlfriend in his arms.
�Yeah, she�s okay. I told her they didn�t mean to leave her.�
�We know that too. She just got scared.�
�Jake?�
Jake looked over at Scout. �What?�
�They didn�t mean to leave you alone, sweetie. You know that right?�
She nodded.
�You�re not mad, are you?� Will asked.
�Not anymore.�
�Good.� Hamilton kissed the top of her head. The door opened and Bella and Sarita walked in.
�Hey sweetie. We are so sorry.� Bella said.
�It�s okay.� Jake got up and hugged her friends. She walked upstairs to talk to them.
Hamilton sighed and looked at Will and Scout. �You know I got this crazy idea.�
�What?� Scout turned to his friend.
�I want to ask Jake to marry me.�
�What?� Scout sat next to his friend and Will took his spot.
�I know, I know we�re young but�I love her.�
�Are you sure about this Ham? I mean this is so sudden.� Will said quietly.
�I�ve given a lot of thought�and I want to ask her. I just need your help.�
Scout and Will looked at each other and sighed.
�Okay.�
�We�ll help.�
Hamilton nodded and told them his idea�
