�That was a beautiful wedding.� Adam said that night messing with his tie.
Joan nodded as she took her shoes and earrings off. �It really was. Grace was glowing.�
�She was. I can�t believe they�re having another baby.�
�I know. Hopefully this time when she has the baby, everything is all right.�
Adam walked over and kissed her. �Everything will be fine.�
Joan smiled. She looked at the clock. It wasn�t too late. �Hey. I think we still have some wine. Why don�t you make us a couple of glasses? Oh and I have a bowl of strawberries in the fridge that I�m kind of craving right now.�
Adam chuckled. �You�re in a romantic mood. Okay.� Adam kissed her and went into the kitchen.
After Adam left, Joan got some candles and lit them up placing them all around the room. After that, she got some rose petals and gently dropped them all around the bed. She changed into a silk nightgown.
When Adam was done with the wine, he got the bowl and went into the bedroom and was shocked finding candles all around the room. Jane was sitting on the bed looking beautiful.
�Jane?�
�Hey Adam.�
�Hey. What is this?�
�I just thought we�d have a romantic evening.� She said as he handed her a glass of wine.
Adam smiled and sat beside her. He kissed her softly and pulled away after a moment to see what was in the bowl. There were strawberries covered in chocolate.
�Looks like we had this planned.�
Joan smiled and picked up a strawberry putting it to his lips. Adam took a bite and chewed before swallowing. He took another bite and Joan kissed him. They drank some wine and ate in silence for a few minutes before Joan put the bowl on the night table.
�Adam? I�ve been thinking about this for a while. I wasn�t sure when but then that moment came. I know I happened to pick today but�I couldn�t wait any longer.�
�Jane?� Adam asked softly.
�I�m ready, Adam. I want you to make love to me.�
Adam looked into her eyes trying to see if she was scared at all.
�Jane I�I want to make love to you so badly�but are you sure about this?�
Joan nodded. �Never been so sure about anything.�
Adam stroked her hair and put his hand on the back of her neck. He kissed her mouth slowly but passionately. Joan pulled him close to her body and they held each other. Joan unbuttoned his shirt and helped him pull it off. They stared at each other for a few moments before kissing again and falling back on the bed.

Joan opened her eyes as the sunlight streamed into the bedroom. She let out a soft moan and felt strong arms around her. She turned to look at Adam, who was waking up.
�Hey there.�
Adam smiled. �Hey.�
Joan leaned over and kissed him. Adam kissed her back before pulling away.
�Any regrets?�
�Never.� Joan said softly. Adam smiled and gave her a soft kiss.
�I love you, Jane.�
�I love you too.�
Adam held her close.
�Adam?� Joan turned to him.
�What is it, Jane?� he looked at her, concerned.
�Thank you. You know for not giving up on Matt or me. We�re so lucky to have you.�
Adam smiled. �No. I�m the lucky one Jane.� He stroked her arm.
Joan kissed him and he held her close.
�I�m sorry I was late.� He whispered.
Joan looked at him. She knew exactly what he meant. �I know. I was never mad at you. I love you, Adam.�
Adam looked at her for a moment before kissing her. This was the way it should be. And that was how it ended.
