I am an Anatomy and Physiology, Advanced Biology, and Health teacher. I absolutely
LOVE my job. Each day, something new and exciting happens. I never know what to
expect. I love what I teach, too. I adore science and how it constantly changes.
My professional goal is to teach my students to love science as much as I do. To do
this, I try to provide an environment for my students that incorporates all aspects of learning.
I want my students to leave my classroom with a desire to learn more. I want them to
challenge themselves to apply what they have learned in my room and use the skills
I have taught them to learn more.
Anatomy and Physiology
Anatomy and Physiology usually has 28 students per class, and it is offered twice a year.
I really challenge these students to be their best!! I love to see them use their thinking caps!!
Advanced Biology
Advanced Biology is only offered once a year. It is a relatively small class, and it is the only advanced science class offered at NPHS at this time.
I am a biology major; so, I get to have a lot of fun in this class. We conduct a forensics unit at the end of each semester.
This past year, we "murdered" the principal, and my students solve the crime, using forensics experiments! It is AWESOME!!!
Health
I also teach all of the 9th grade health classes. We have a GREAT time, studying the three main aspects of health - mental, social, and physical.
Health is a requirement for all of our students.
