I am #5 out of six sibblings. Joan Ledbetter
Mansur, Jequetta Sue Ledbetter Yanez, John Cole Ledbetter, Joel Charles
Ledbetter, Judy Ledbetter McInnis, Jay Don Ledbetter. I live outside Tulsa,
OK. Joel lives in Elkins Ark, the rest are all in Calif.
My oldest sister Joan Mansur and her husband Darrell are doing some research
on our family tree. The previous records we had (done in 1983) had very
little of no information on the Kelly branch of our family. I would be glad
to pass along what we have gathered. We have some old pictures I can share
with you.
Pearl Dareing Ledbetter (my granny) migrated to Southern California about
1952, and my parents followed about 1953. She helped to found a large
Baptist church and was a traveling gospel singer when she was younger. I
understand that two of her brothers (Montie and Ben I think ) were radio
preachers, Montie out of Kansas City and not sure where Ben was. Pearl is
buried in Miami, OK (1962) along with some of her siblings. The last I
heard, Bertie is still alive and living in Miami, but she had remarried and
we do not know her last name. We as children (after the move to Calif) did
not have much contact with the Dareings. I remember my granny talking
about her family, I have some very old coffee mugs and saucers and Joan
remembers alot also. joan was taught from Granny some of the old past-times
needlework and childrens games Granny was taught from her grandparents.

We moved from the farm on January 1, 1962, and she never ever lived with us in that house in
town. Just a couple of months or so after we moved to town, Sarah brought Mike and Gary over and dumped them off so Mother had her hands full with trying to get everything settled and take care of a three year old and a one year old. That summer Chloe Dean would walk over (they lived just up the street where Burke Lennington now has his auto repair shop) and help with the boys. My mother's health wasn't very good so she was a big help. She was pregnant with Clark and by the end of summer
almost didn't have a lap to rock Gary to sleep. He was then born on December 10, 1962. If he had been born Dec 1963, as is listed, that would have made him only 4 months older than Kent, April, 1964. Hey, I know she could do pretty much everything she set her mind to, but even she couldn't pull something like that off haha
