Lt. Singer had had the good grace to find an excuse not to attend Lt. Sims’ “HEN PARTY” as she referred to the gathering.  Harriett had bought a house a few weeks ago and although there had been a house warming she’d decided to host a Ladies Night.

 

Thus gathered at the new home of Bud and Harriett Roberts were: Lt. Colonel Sarah Mackenzie, Commander Carolyn Imes, Jackie Matoni, Bobbie Latham, Meredith Cavanaugh and Theresa Coulter. The JAG Women as it were.

 

The only male in the pack was AJ Roberts.

 

As the toddler weaved his way though the females Bobbie grabbed him.  “Harriett… I’ve always wondered why AJ.”

 

“Well the Admiral has been such a positive force in our lives that we wanted to honor that.” The hostess pored a drink for Jackie.

 

“… and AJ mean?”  Jackie asked.

 

Harriett looked at Mac, who replied, “You’re on your own kiddo.”

 

“Albert Jethro.” She whispered.

 

“I didn’t hear you.” Bobbie said.

 

“I’m sitting next to her and I didn’t hear.” Jackie complained.

 

“Albert Jethro.” She repeated more forcibly.

 

“The man I am dating is called Albert Jethro?” Meredith commented.

 

“… and so is my God son.” Mac added.

 

“Harriett believe me there is nothing to fret about. Sturgis is a fish after all.” Bobbie chuckled and Harriett smiled.

 

“Will Twiler make you feel better?” Jackie asked.

 

“Twiler?” Mac asked. “Who or what is a Twiler?”

 

“My second niece.” Jackie replied. Seeing Mac reaction she assured them “I kid you not. The first is Sunshine the second Twiler.”

 

“Got one to top both.” Theresa announced. All eyes were fixed on her.

 

“How does Bonaventure grab you.”

 

“In places it shouldn’t.” Mac groaned.

 

“Do tell.” Bobbie urged.

 

“Well my mother being the devout Christian she was took yours truly to be baptized. I’m born on July 14 an that is Saint Bonaventure’s Day. The priest wanted it my mother God rest her soul did not.  She prevailed and they settled for Anne which is July 15 and the Day for Blessed Anne Marie Javier.” She related.

 

There was an instant of stunned silence the Mac guffawed. “Bonaventure!”

 

“If I never bless my mother for anything I must at least bless her for that!” She grinned.

 

“SO!” Meredith announced “AJ isn’t that bad after all!”

 

“Amen!” Harriett held up her glass in salute and drank.
