Hi all!
As some of you might already have noticed, I decided to stay here in Sucre, Bolivia quite a while and kept postponing my voyage for almost one month! The town is just great to hang out and learn about the country. Beautiful plazuelas, nice scenary, good restaurants, excellent cakes for sale ( german Sahnetorte!) biscuits, pralinees (almost as nice as the Richter ones)
Besides that, the climate here is perfect. We have mid-winter-time: except 3 days in my 3 1/2 week stay we had 15-15 degrees and sun. But the real causes for my stay are different:
The family here is like my own to me. We are talking for hours every day about the cultural differences, la vida aqua and alli, about problems of the family, about friends, girls and all.
The mum is preparing all the bolivian specialities for me, that I learn more about local food. I am invited to all family reuniones and fiestas as being a member. There is no better way to learn about a culture and a country and to learn the language.
I also do not know any tourists anymore. So I speak castellano only here for weeks now. That is just perfect. And so I also made loads of friendships here.
Last but not least I got kinda girlfriend here now, which is one major reason for me not to leave as early as planned.
So, I changed my plans to stay here for 4 days to 4 weeks and will have to leave for La Paz by 12h night sleeper-bus on thuresday night!
So some news from the culture here: The modern Technologies seem to influence all the world. I thought all would be quite catholical.... but never in my life I ve seen so many couples kissing in the streets. Lots of them also have sex before their marriage. All depends on the family. Some don t know what sex is (with over 20a), others have had 20 boy/girl-friends or more. But it is quite standard to have your 1st time with 16. Almost parecido to Europe, no?
And 2 generations ago, the people tended to have 15 children, 1 ago only 4-6, and the youngsters now wish to have no more than 3.
