Huline Jungle

This is the first place you will be on the Southern Continent, and far from the last. Many streams run through the Jungle from the Bane River, showing just how wet the lands can be down here. If you’re lucky, you may find some remnants of the Great War that happened between the Huline and Dracoid. There are a number of surprises in here, and a few very important clues to be found.

Wonder about this area a lot, and do anything you can- if you can whack at a tree and make sap come out, do it. Many two-headed cougar type cats run around a lot here too- but don't disturb them. They throw poison at you, and their friends will help to kill you also, as they travel in packs. Actually, the only cat you may be able to successfully kill is the first one that approaches you- but I would suggest only attacking him if he attacked you first, as he sometimes does and doesn't.

There is an area in the jungle where, if you knock out a gusher in the river and make it crumble, the water will stop flowing. Then after a few moments you are free to walk where there was deep flowing water. If you walk down a bit take the first left you come upon. If you are lucky enough to turn into the lizard at this point, you may go in the hole there- you will find fire crystals, a speaking stone and a storm crystal.

The speaking stone shows two Dracoid from way back when Belial gave them Ancient Magic and the Great War occurred. It shows the great Dracoid city, Tsar'Ille, sinking beneath the Bane River. The two Dracoid are deciding to stay or leave for the north.

In another area if you walk down a thin stream there might be some vines blocking your path. After you have visited the Hive Caves and rescued Shalla- the young woman the Huline searchers are looking for- the weeds will be gone and you may go through. Here you will find yourself next to a waterfall (the one in the background picture, actually). If you click off to your right the screen will move (this is a video-type motion) and bring you to a cave. Towards the back you will find a skeleton. In his bag he has a speaking stone. It shows a man next to the river- he doesn't want his lamplight stew, it seems.

From the Huline Jungle are entrances to the Hive Caves, the Huline Village and the Chay Ar Monastery in the south. You may also cross the bridge that spans over the Bane River, but only after you are finished in the Huline Jungle.
