| Novemeber 13, 2001 Well, I have been though physical therapy, drug therapy <again>, and a few new doctors since the brain decompression. None has done much good. I am not sure what is wrong. I am on new medications now and each time I go back to the doctor he raises the milligrams of the drugs. Same stuff just differant day, drugs and doc! Some days I just can't stand anymore! Right now I have this doctor that says I need to loose weight. Okay, I will give him that. I would LOVE to loose weight! He says that if I do loose weight I will be ALL better! OHHH YIPPPPEEEEE! Now, why didn't those other quacks tell me it was that simple? They could have saved me a couple scars and a zipper in my head. OK so now for the HOW of it.... he gives me this drug called, TOPAMAX. It is a sezure medication, migraine preventative and they are <according to Dr ??> trying to get it marketed as a weight loss drug. Ok so I take it. For a solid week I can not eat, even the thought of food made me sick. If I did eat <IF> then it came right back up. Now the only other time that has ever happen to me was when I was 18 and I did it on purpose. SO.....Back to this quack for a follow-up..... I tell him how I feel.... what his little wonder drug did for me (you know, about not being able to eat) and he says "GOOD! Let's raise it to 100 MG and I will see you in 2 mths" Ok so I have a couple things to say on this one.... If it came in a bottle we would all be skinny! and if I get sick because of this drug mister........uggggg.... Don't know what the big stink is anyway, I was very slim when I had gotten sick and I am not that much heavier now. I do have to say that since I have started the Topomax, I have NOT gotten a Migraine and I usually have one by now. |

| Yeah I haven't updated in a VERY long time!! It is now January of 2004. A quick run down of the past couple years as well as I can remember. Going backwards.......September 2003; gall bladder removed and Perontinitis, had tubing removed from VP shunt due to allergic reaction. VP shunt placement January 2003 Brain Decompressions; one each month....December, November, October, September, August, and June of 2002. {Picture below is from June 2002- I thought that was going to be the last surgery, however, it was the beginning of a very long road. I call it my PERMA-Zipper} Before August 2002 I was on many medications <I will list here> |

| One Day At A Time I am still here and BETTER THAN EVER! I am stronger, happier, smarter. I still have very bad days where the pain is bad or I am a little "off" but I am here and THAT is what matters. I have not let this beat me.....We will find a cure and hopefully the next person in line will not have to go through as much as I had to. |
