Recruiting ------------------------------------------------------------ The purpose of recruiting is not to actively increase our members, but to instead inform people that JAG exists… We are trying to find persons who would fit into JAG. In other words, we’re not trying to sell our guild, or retrain/mold players for JAG. We’re trying to find people who would already be solid fits for our guild. ------------------------------------------------------------ The recruiting process is to be done exactly, and as follows: (1) Say hello, when they respond, inform them you represent JAG, and ask if they’re interested in hearing about JAG. (2) If they are interested, give them a general explanation of JAG (usually a macro that the GM approves). Ask what they think of JAG. (3) If they like the idea, then ask what they’re looking for in a guild; make sure they’re not looking for someone JAG is not! If they are looking for a guild like ours, then. (4) Tell them about the three rules. Make certain they understand that rule 1 means the idea is to have fun, not be all-powerful, rule 2 means that you cannot ruin the fun of others, such as immaturity in guild chat, and rule 3 means that everything is always voluntary. (5) If the person agrees to everything and seems interested, get their real first name, real age, and in-game professions, and invite them to JAG. If questioned, say we use the names for “alt” identification, it’s easier to know "Bob" then it is Bob's 5 alts. ------------------------------------------------------------ Remember - Never recruit anyone that seems unintelligent, ignorant, uninterested, or overzealous. We’re not taking dumb people, ignorant pricks, people who could not care less, or over eager kids looking to leech. - If anyone does not want to go through all five steps of recruiting, do not recruit them – being over eager is never a good thing. - Never attempt to recruit anyone under level 10… Read carefully – this means player’s alts are allowed, your alts are allowed, but anyone not a member cannot be recruited... tell them to hit 10 first and ask again! - Above all, you are an Officer, there is trust placed in your judgment, if you any doubts = dump! (Meaning, don’t recruit!) ------------------------------------------------------------ You should be informing (AKA “recruiting” without recruiting… yet) - Every time you see a un-guilded person during your travels. - Every time you arrive in a city, and depart a city (two advertisements). - During GM ordered “bracketed recruiting sessions”, where you are to /who a specific bracket range assigned by the GM and talk to every un-guilded person. These are rare… so relax.
