Theme: Lady Macbeth as Tragic Heroine

Act  2  Scene  2  lines 68-74

Infirm of purpose!
Give me the daggers :the sleeping ,and the dead
Are but as pictures; 'tis he eye of childhood
That fears a painted devil. If he do bleed,
I'll gild the faces of the grooms withal,
For it must seem their guilt

Speaker: Lady Macbeth
Speaking to: Macbeth

Brief description of the circumstances:
Macbeth has just killed the king and has arrived back from the chamber. He has both the daggers with him and has not yet framed the guards. Lady Macbeth is in the halls and is waiting for him. Macbeth claims he cannot go back

These lines develop the theme  that Lady Macbeth can be seen as the true tragic hero of the play    because she has to do the dirty work for Macbeth. She has to go back and check whether the king is dead, and has to frame the guards. This is because she feels for her husband and is doing the best thing for him. So therefor she is the tragic hero.
