| This is the lore of the Red Goddess, in accordance with that of the Pink Goddess and the Black Goddess and the Orange Goddess. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| As has been told, the Pink Goddess made the world from cheap pink plasticine. The creatures he created thrived and prospered under the light of the low-energy light bulb he had set in the sky. The creatures were content but unimaginative. The Pink Goddess saw this was boring, so as an experiment he gave the creatures Man and Woman imaginations for a trial period to see what they made of them. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| After about a week of owning his imagination, Man, whose name was Alan, came to the Pink Goddess and spake thusly unto him, | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| â??Oh, wondrous Pink Goddess, etc etc and so forth. Iâ?™ll get to the point, Pinky. Iâ?™ve been having these mind pictures that come into my head when I am sleeping. They are worrying as I have never experienced anything like them before. Please tell me what the hell is going on.â?? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Pink Goddess smiled serenely at his favourite creature. He spake unto him, | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| â??Do not worry. These mind-pictures-that-come-into-your-head-whilst-sleeping are a perfectly ordinary part of having an imagination. I think. I shall do some research into them so that your heart is set at ease.â?? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| And so the Pink Goddess flounced off and did some pretty frantic research which involved asking the other two Goddesses about the new menace, Imagination. The Orange Goddessâ?™s opinion was very hard to discover as she was having some trouble with her Jaffas, which were attacking any creature that tried to enter the realm of the Goddesses. She suggested that he tried the opinion of the Black Goddess. The Black Goddessâ?™s opinion, however, was as hard to obtain as the Orange Goddessâ?™s. He was experiencing problems with his minions, the Slipknot Guard dogs. They were off their feed and needed to be kept under constant surveillance lest they savage some poor, unsuspecting creature. All the Pink Goddess managed to get out of the Black Goddess was the utterance, | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| â??Tell you what; I think you should ARGHHHHH NO GERROFFA MY ARM!!!!!â?? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Pink Goddess saw this as useful as a very un-useful thing to something that has no use for aforesaid useless thing, and so he flounced off to ponder the Imagination amongst the stars. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| After a while of pondering, the Pink Goddess came up with the theory that the only way to test the Imagination, was to experience it for himself. And so, the Pink Goddess created an Imagination for himself. He wanted to find out what Alan meant by â??mind-pictures-that-come-into-your-head-whilst-sleepingâ?™, and so the Pink Goddess slept. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Now, not many people know that when a Goddess dreams, it is different to when an ordinary person dreams. When an ordinary person dreams, the images are just that; images. They hold no real power. When a Goddess dreams, the images, if they are dreamed about enough, live apart from the Goddess and begin a life of their own. Goddessesâ?™ dreams are the epitome of dreams. They are all-powerful dreams, the dreams that all other dreams look up to and fear. Goddesses dream Dreams. But the Pink Goddess did not know this, and so the Pink Goddess Dreamed. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| He Dreamed about many things. The things he Dreamed about were often Dreamed about for a short period of time and stayed as images. However there was one Dream that kept returning to him, night after night. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| He was looking for something that he had lost. He did not know what it was, but when he found it, he would know. He wandered through forest and swampland and through endless strips of desert and still that which was lost was not found. As he Dreamed, stretches of forest, swampland and desert that had not previously existed burst into being. The Dream was gaining power. The Pink Goddess searched for months in the wastelands of sleep for that which was lost and still he did not find it. When he was awake he would mope around and wonder what it was that was lost, but no answers presented themselves. He became obsessed. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Orange Goddess, after sorting out her Jaffas, paid him a visit. She was concerned to see his condition. His Lycra was starting to sag at the knees. He was beginning to experience human feelings and emotion, and subsequently was becoming more human. This worried the Orange Goddess. She warned him against any more dangerous Dreaming. She told him to cease all experimentation with Imagination and to become a full Goddess once more. The Pink Goddess agreed with her. He told her he would stop his experiments. Satisfied, the Orange Goddess went on her way. But when the Pink Goddess raised his hand to rid himself of the troublesome Imagination and the resulting Dreams, he could not. He felt sure, he reasoned to himself, that if he had one more night of Dreaming, he would find that which was lost. And so he kept his Imagination, laid himself down, and began to Dream. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| At first he was merely wandering through the same wastelands that he always Dreamed about. He wandered and wandered, calling for that which was lost. He did not call it by name, for he did not know its name, or even if it had one. He merely sent out an exhalation of thought, calling for it. He knew he had found it before he saw it. He knew this because rather than the familiar, if hostile, surroundings of his normal Dream, he found himself entering a woodland clearing that he had never seen before. There was a stump of a long-forgotten tree and he sat down, waiting for the thing he had lost. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| It came as a shower of light, whispering through the trees, pleasing the eye and enchanting the ear. It surrounded the Pink Goddess and made itself known to him. It seemed to be dissipating but suddenly became more concentrated and solidified into a young woman. She was naked at first, but seeing the momentary discomfort of the Pink Goddess; she saw his Lycra and frowned. Slowly, like the light that she had come as, clothing settled itself upon her. It was a red halter-neck cat-suit. She smiled at him gently and spake unto him thusly, | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| â??It is I who you seek, I who you have braved the harsh Dream for. I heard you call out in the wastelands of Nothing and I Became. You asked me a question and thus I Became. Ask it again, that I may answer you.â?? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Pink Goddess knew the question she spoke of. He asked her hesitantly, not expecting an answer. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| â??Do you understand Imagination?â?? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| She smiled, the infinite wisdom of the smile comforted him. She answered simply, | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| â??Yes,â?? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Pink Goddess grew bolder. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| â??And dreams and Dreams, do you understand these too?â?? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| â??Yes.â?? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Pink Goddess asked his final and most important question. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| â??Are you willing to use this knowledge to the advantage of all creatures and become a Goddess? Know that if you answer yes, you shall be incarnate with followers. You shall know the outside world and walk in this one only in Dreams. Can you give all this up and follow me as a Goddess?â?? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| She looked at him seriously and spake thus; | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| â??Yes.â?? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| And the Pink Goddess woke up from his Dream, and the girl stood apart from it, all the power in the Dream having gone into making her incarnate. She smiled once more, and removed Imagination from him, along with Dreams and dreaming. He became a full Goddess again. Thus the Red Goddess was born, from the Dream of the Pink Goddess, with the power to understand Imagination and Dreams and dreaming. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| She walked among the creatures and knew their Imaginings and dreams. Her minions sprung from the lore of dreams. They were Sleep, Nightmare, Fantasy and Insomnia. They did her bidding and quite often Insomnia visited a girl called Helen Hawkes just to teach her a lesson for having such an active Imagination. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This is the lore of the Red Goddess. Thanks be to the Red Goddess. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
