Patriarch Wolf

Wolf the Werewolf

Wolf is a v1.10 single-player werewolf druid, and my first solo patriarch. Yay!

Entering The Forgotten Temple

Wolf had a pack of dire wolves to accompany him, and a big polearm to hit the monsters with. He was lucky enough to find two unique polearms -- early on the unique "Woestave" halberd, which he upgraded to bec-de-corbin and which served him well until the "Bonehew" ogre axe dropped in Hell maggot lair. Both these have the "prevent monster heal" attribute which was critical for Wolf, as a relatively low-damage melee character, to make it through Hell difficulty. For fire-enchanted and other particularly dangerous bosses Wolf only had to hit them once to stop them healing, then could stand back and let his wolves finish them off.

Korlic Wolf didn't have any special equipment for dealing with physical immunes, making do with odd bits of elemental damage from charms and his "Infernostride" boots. The "open wounds" ability of the Woestave was also very useful -- ghosts in particular seemed especially vulnerable to open wounds.

Hell Ancients were a royal PITA for Wolf. Even after he rolled them with attributes that weren't instantly lethal, he had no chance of going toe-to-toe with any of them, but had to run around sniping at them with Bonehew while they were distracted by the wolves. He ran out of pots before the first two died, but managed to get Korlic trapped against a pillar where the dire wolves could slowly nibble him to death (this took around 40 minutes!)

Wolf had no mercenary. Why would a wolf pack have a mercenary?

Wolf was also untwinked, and killed each act boss exactly once (no MF runs for better equipment).
