The Dragonfly Lounge is a magical oasis offering refuge to the needy masses of BRC. Entrants will begin their spiritual journey as Nymphs, playing in the marsh-like inner sanctum and trying their luck at the Wheel of Nature and attempting to achieve full status in the Order of Odonata. Successful aspirants will transform into a giant dragonfly as they fly about the Playa joyously, having forgotten any previous human cares. They will receive a token signifying their new spirit form of the Dragonfly, then depart to begin a new life.

The Dragonfly Lounge is a 70' art car consisting of a truck with a steel superstructure supporting a 2nd level deck and 3 custom built steel trailers. Not shown in the photos above are the wings, steel railings and PVC EL wire hoops (see concept sketch). The wings will be made of lightweight pull-truded tubing supporting EL wire and have virtually no wind-loading due to the lack of surface area. The vehicle will enable up to 40 persons to move about the Playa comfortably, while enjoying the delights of the aquatic-themed dance floor / lounge, treat bar (including home-made ice cream!), and various guest DJ's spinning tunes on the Lounge's custom sound system.

Decorations will consist of colored fire-retardant cloth and construction grade plastic hoops. The Lounge will be brightly illuminated at night with over 1200' of EL wire, rope lights, disco/dance lights, 2 giant psychodelic "bug eyes", and forward driving lights. A flaming antenna protruding skyward from the top of the head will signal to others of it's kind, as well as those who would join the Order.
