When you hear the name Vin Diesel, what do you think of? Do you see him as just a "hot body"? Well take another look. There is more to him than meets the eye...
Vin Diesel, born as Mark Vincent on July 18, 1967, is a man of many heritages. He never knew his biological father, but he was raised by his astrologer mother and step-father in the Westbeth artist's housing project in New York's Greenwich Village. He has a twin brother, Mark Vincent, and sisters. Ever since he was young he was interested in acting. When he was young, he and some buddies of his broke into a local theatre. The owner caught them, and instead of arresting them, they were put to work. Getting him more and more interested in performing. At 15 he started doing some heavy weight training. Later on he found that he needs to take on another job. A bouncer was perfect for him, he was in perfect shape for it since hes been training since 15!
Later on he wrote, produced, starred in and directed Multi-Facial wich was to either make or brake him.
Steven Spielberg had seen and liked Multi Facial. So he was given a call. Vin Diesel got his first experience in a major film prodution. This film was called Saving Private Ryan. He played the role of Pvt Adrian Caparzo. It was a small role, and his charecter was killed early in the movie, but this was his big break.

and quote..
His Step-Father...
''I never knew my biological father,'' says Diesel, who was reared by his stepfather, who taught theater, and his mother, an astrologist. ''I consider myself truly multiracial because my stepfather was also black. He is the one who culturally made me who I am.''
Directing..
"I find there is less and less time! You stack the productions up, each is nine months or a year. This just isn't movies for used-car prices."
(San Diego Union-Tribune)
The Iron Giant
"I .. did it because some day I'm going to have a 5 yr. old and he's going to be asked on that first day of school: "What does your daddy do?" and he'll be able to say 'He's the Irong Giant!"
(MSN Live chat 2000)
Whats it like being known as the sexiest man in Hollywood?
"I've never been a 'pretty boy' so it's new to me... I still don't half believe it."
Acting...
I just want to do good work. I want to do quality work. My objective is to take you out of your reality for two hours. Make it effect you.
(Prevue Magazine)
Fast and Furious Sequal
Why didn't you sign on for Fast and the Furious 2?
"Did you see The Fast and the Furious? Yes. Did you see xXx? If you had to choose a franchise, which would you choose?"
Girlfriend Rumors...
[...] "none of them is accurate. Because I'll tell you something: If I'm not playing Sony PlayStation or rereading a classic or watching a goddamned foreign film or watching porn (I'm joking about the porn), my friends and I get on the Internet and find out who I'm dating, and it's always hysterical. It's really very funny. It's too preposterous to fight. They've linked me up with people I've never met. I assume there's nothing I can do about that...But at this level, I guess it's almost flattering that people care enough to create shit like that."
"I enjoyed him, what can I say. When I kissed him, hes a actually a really good kisser -- actually one of the best I ever kissed in my life, uh, in a movie I mean" "the best kisser in the world, better than anyone else I've ever had. The most attractive thing about Vin is his brain. That's his most attractive muscle." -Asia Argento xXx co-star
"It's that raspy voice that gets you. You won't ever hear a story about him being (a jerk) to people. He's not (a jerk) kind of actor. That's one thing that will assure at least that I'm open to always being his friend." -Michelle Rodriguez co-star in The Fast and The Furious
