About UI - This website is created on Control Valve, my media machine, which currently boasts a PII-300 MHz, 128 MB RAM, 6 GB HD, 8x4x32 CD-R, ZIP-100, ATI Rage 32, some crappy generic sound card, a webcam, a Canon BJC-6000 printer, a snazzy wireless internet connection, an Aiwa AV-D57 receiver, 4 satellite speakers, a center speaker, and a sub.
I do all my work by hand: HTML and JavaScript coding in Windows Notepad (2k Edition), graphics in Adobe Photoshop 5.5 and ImageReady 2.0. I also use my machine to listen to a couple gigs worth of MP3s, chat on AIM, write (and do homework) in Microsoft Office XP, play Liero, work in MathSoft MathCad 2000 Pro, and program in MetroWerks CodeWarrior 4.
About Jadrian - I'm seventeen years old, a senior at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics. I do art just as a fun addition to my life; I try to take seriously as little as possible: better for blood pressure and sanity. My interests range all the hell over the place, and I generally enjoy life and people and the world.
My big thing, though, is math. I do it quite a lot: in my free time, for classes, for competition. By the end of my four semesters of attendance here at S&M, I will have taken 9 semesters of math classes (11 if you count computer science; 10 if I fail out of Cal III). If I get into any colleges, I hope to continue taking math, and maybe end up getting paid to do math for the rest of my life. Besides that, I'm also interested in computer programming as a possible career track.
On top of that, I'm and RLA (which is a lot like a college RA) on Second Hill, the mf-in' coolest hizall on campus. I hang out with a lot of interesting people on my hall; I took a picture earlier this year of a bunch of my junior friends showing their normal level of respect for their favorite RLA.
I don't really get out very much. I generally go to class and go to the PFM, and the rest of the time I'm in my room or wandering the hall hoping someone else is around.
I did meet Maggie here, though. We went out for 11 months over our middle two semesters here. As one can imagine, and as is evidenced somewhat in the newsposts (and moreso in conversation with me), she's been one of the important influences on my life here at school and just in general. That seems like a rather wishy-washy thing to say, but it's the truth.
My family is pretty cool. My parents are divorced and we're all spread out up and down the east coast. My oldest brother, Jonathan, goes to UNC and lives in an apartment with a few of his friends. He's really cool and wastes way too much money on me. I talk to my dad on the phone when I can, because he lives in Massachusetts... he understands me very well and gives good advice, even if I don't always want to admit it. Mom, Devin (my younger sister), and Jeremy (my older brother) live in Pennsylvania, and it's nice to see them when I visit, but living with them is kind of difficult.
My roommate this year is a guy named Nick. He's a great guy to room with - very agreeable - and lives pretty close, so I mooch food off him pretty regularly.
I'm a pretty hard worker but I'm also very lazy. I know it sounds kind of incongruous, but everyone who knows me well knows this to be true. I'm anal about little things (dripping faucets, grammar, etc.), but I try my best to take things as they come and change things as I can. I respect action, conviction, and modesty.
I've decided it might be neat to share my musical tastes, so I compiled a gigantic playlist of every MP3 I own. About half of my collection is ripped from my own CDs.
So that's about it. If you'd like to get to know me better (sounds like a blast, I'm sure), please read the newsposts, or, if you'd like, send me an email. Thanks for feeding my ego and visiting my site. Cheers.
