 ===========
 Description
 ===========

 RunCD is a program to facilitate the use of other programs which require a
 CD-ROM. It will automatically open the tray, test for the correct CD (by
 matching the volume label), run the program and open the tray again (or
 optionally leave it closed).

 ============
 Requirements
 ============

 32-bit Windows (developed on Win98SE, but should work on Win95/NT/2000/ME).
 CD-ROM drive.

 ============
 Installation
 ============

 Just unzip it somewhere. You might like to move "runcd32.exe" to your Windows
 directory (or somewhere on the PATH).

 To remove it, just delete the directory and the copy on the PATH. You will
 also have to remove references to it for any icons you created/modified.

 =====
 Usage
 =====

 runcd32 [-t Title] [-l label] [-d drive:device] [-k] program [arguments]

 "-t Title" will display "Title" as the caption of the message box. If this
 option is absent, "RunCD" will be used.

 "-l label" will be used to determine if the correct CD is inserted (or already
 present). The current CD's label can be displayed by using "runcd32 -l". If
 this option is absent, the first CD inserted will be assumed correct.	If the
 CD has no label, use a "." (ie. "-l .").

 "-d drive:device" is used to select another CD-ROM. I am sorry for the
 inconvenience	of having to specify the device as well as the drive, but I was
 unable to determine how to open the tray by just using a drive letter. Device
 names	can be found in "system.ini" in the [mci] section. If you just have a
 second CD-ROM, you could probably get away with "-d e:1" (assuming E: is your
 second CD and where "1" is shorthand for "cdaudio1").

 "-k" will keep the tray closed after the program finishes. Usually the tray is
 opened afterwards.

 The suggested method to use RunCD is this:

 * Insert the CD and use a DOS-box or the Run dialog to do "runcd32 -l".
 * Bring up the Properties of the program.
 * Add "runcd32 -t Title -l label " at the beginning of the Target, replacing
   "Title" and "label" as appropriate.
 * Change the icon back to the program's.

 That's it! Now when you run the program, the CD will open automatically, the
 program will run and the CD will open again when the program finishes.

 ============
 Distribution
 ============

 The original zipfile can be freely distributed, by any means. However, I would
 like to be informed if it is placed on a CD-ROM (other than an archive
 compilation).	Modified versions may be distributed, as long as the original
 zipfile is included (I would prefer to be contacted).
