SHAMANIC WILDERNESS CAMP EQUIPMENT LIST

Do not omit anything, as each item is required for a safe and comfortable experience. Please do not expect to bring extra items without clearing this with me. No pets are allowed.

All food (3 squares a day, organic where possible), eating utensils and other assorted Camp gear are provided.

Sweat Lodge clothing: A large towel. Women-a long cotton Tshirt and undershorts. Men- Swim trunks.
Sleeping bag. I recommend a goose down (though a fiber fill is okay) bag of at least a +30 degree rating.
Sleeping mat. I like an air mattress, myself.
Backpack.
Poncho/ground cloth, I recommend a rubber coated poncho from an Army surplus store.
Rain jacket.
Hiking boots or sneakers.
One pair polypropylene hiking socks, three pair other socks (cotton, wool etc)
Two pair pants, perhaps blue jeans or Army camo, optional tights okay
Two long sleeved cotton shirts, one light one heavy
Undies, 5 pair
Three cotton T-shirts
Short pants
One pull over sweater or Polar Fleece
Ladies: a loose skirt
Optional: One set of polypropylene insulated underwear, top and bottom (Not the one piece kind)
A warm coat. One knit stocking cap. Gloves (lined leather are best)
Sun hat, Sunglasses, Sunscreen, high rating, optional
One water bottle.
Toiletries: One medium size camp towel, washcloth, toothbrush/toothpaste, hairbrush/comb, biodegradable skin soap, contact lens stuff. Optional: razor/shaving creme, armpit crystal. Ladies: sanitary napkins w/zip lock bag for each. NO perfumes, deodorants, make-up, hairspray, or other vanity toiletries etc.
Knives: one folding pocket knife, optional Swiss Army knife
Flashlight, small. One set extra batteries.
One disposable lighter.
Health Insurance card, ID, emergency names & numbers in a case. Prescription medications, vitamins. Please inform me of all these items.
You may wish to bring: A journal, camera, hand-rolling tobacco ( no ciggies!), personal Ceremonial items (NO owl feathers or flourite crystals).
NOTE: Arizona desert weather in the Spring is very changeable. It could be hot and sunny or snowing, all on the same day. Nights will be cool. Everything we use in the Camp must be hauled in on our backs. The hike in is 400 yards downhill followed by a steep 500 yards UP. Prepare by walking and stretching NOW.

LOCATION INFORMATION FOR NEST CAMP, May 6 - 10, 2001

All Shamanic Camp participants must be at the meeting place at 7pm, May 5th.
We will meet for orientation at my home. There are hotels locally for your evening's stay, or you may camp at my place, in or outdoors.

Transportation into Sedona:

By Air: Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. All major airlines serve this region.

Shuttles:
Ace (door-to-door), $78 round-trip. 520-649-2720
Sedona Shuttle: $60 round-trip, pick-ups at designated locations at scheduled times only. 520-282-2066

DIRECTIONS:

From Sedona/Hwy 89A, go South on Hwy 179 to the Village of Oak Creek. At the second stoplight in town (by the Outlet Shops) turn LEFT onto Jack's Canyon Road.
From I-17, exit onto Hwy 179 to Sedona. At the 2nd stoplight (by the Outlet Shops), which is in the Village of Oak Creek, turn RIGHT onto Jack's Canyon Road.
Proceed 3/4 mile. Bear sharp right, staying on Jack's Canyon Road. Continue another 2 miles till the road comes to a T. Turn LEFT onto Greyfox. Go three blocks, turn RIGHT onto Wildflower Circle. Proceed to 190 Wildflower, on the right, at the end of the street, just before it bends left.

RELEASE FORM

I, the undersigned, am a fully responsible adult (or have written permission from my legal guardian, attached). I agree to participate fully in all Camp activities, including physical labor, chores and tasks, unless for reasons stated below in 'Comments'. I choose to participate in this Camp with the understanding that I may encounter discomfort, danger, threat to life and limb and unforeseen circumstances. I release Jade Wah'oo Grigori, his assistants and other Camp members from all liability, whether real or imagined. I understand that all monies transferred to Jade Wah'oo Grigori, or his assistants, is to cover the expenses incurred in the putting together of this venture, and for the orientation provided by Jade Wah'oo Grigori and his assistants, and that this orientation is soley on private property within the State of Arizona.

The NEST Camp begins with the orientation at 9 am May 5th. Camp ends when the entire Camp is dismantled and clean on the evening of May 10th. All Camp participants must remain in Camp for the entire time. There will be no exiting or access to phones.
