As much as I love reading, I love the movies, classic or new. I watch new movies every months on DVD, Video, or at the theater. I think I see movies at least twice a week, so that's a lot of movies to review.
Reviewed Movie:
FINDING NEMO (June 2, 2003)
This is the lastest genius of Pixar and Disney movie. It gets better and better. First the Toy Story, then the Monsters, Inc, and now it's Finding Nemo.
As a computer graphic lover, I focused on the quality of the graphics first. The colors here are amazing. It's so real, I almost forget that these backgrounds are not real. The water looks so real, you can almost feel them from your seat. Also the color under the water is a bit mirky compare to the real outside life in the movie. In the Dentist's tank, the colors just pops out at you with the clarity, so you can feel how the artificial the environment is for the little fish Nemo.
The storyline is solid. The movie begins with about to be parents clownfish couple. They are nervous and happy about the new home and naming their hundreds of baby fish. However, the tragedy strucks and Marvin is left with only one fish egg, that eventually becomes Nemo.
Marvin becomes very protective father fish and wouldn't let Nemo do anything. Which led to Nemo's eventual rebel and his capture. This prompt Marvin on a journey to find his son. On the way, he meets other great characters. My favorite was the scene with the surf dude turtles. Very cute! Very cool! LOL. Jokes are funny and emotions run high in every turn, but as you know, it ends with the happy, warm in the belly kind of feeling.
All in all, this is a must for anyone who is looking for a great family movie this summer. I drag my best friend to go see this, and she loved it. And we are only college students! No kids! And we loved the jokes and the storyline! And that's pretty cool, dudes...
The Matrix: Reloaded was a bit dissappointing, but this sure wasn't! See this movie, folks, and have a laugh!
THE MATRIX: RELOADED
Well, what can I say about this movie... It is a great sequel that showcased the most intense movie effects. However, this movie lacked the strong story line and the fast pace that were so great about the first movie. While I was watching the movie, I kept thinking about how they are just dragging on and on with the special effects, instead of telling the story. It was as if they just wanted to say here are the special effects we can do!!!
O.K. Great...yeah....no wonder the attendence dropped dramatically after only 2 weeks.
And one thing that ticked me off was the scenes in Zion. Where did they get all those colorful clothes all of the sudden? With the jewries and everything? I thought they were fighting for their lives here! And why are the main characters wearing the crappy colored clothes with holes? Hmmm? And where are all the old people and children? Why are they dancing to a techno music while jumping up and down? Is that a good idea? Wouldn't their thump thump send the signal to the machines where they are? Would that cave hold while they beat on their ground? And why are they dancing again? That dancing party scene was way too long and draging. I almost missed the S/M club scene from the first movie, when it was short and cool.
Also too many people are wearing visors/sunglasses inside the Matrix. That kind of annoyed me again as well, because when everyone's wearing it, then it's just plain annoying. Especially at nighttime. It's stupid to wear them when it's dark already. Can they SEE??!!!
Sigh...anyway, exception of those annoying tibits, I liked Agent Smith. He kicked ass! All the villans have more fun in this one, especially those freaky albino twins. They can shape shift and that was cool. Also the love between Trinity and Neo is stronger this time, and they showed their blossoming relationship well. The highway chase scene was the bomb! It was fast and instense! Loved it, although again, I felt it was bit dragging the storyline.
I hope and hope the third and the final movie would be better. The second movie left too many annoying things to get in my viewing pleasure. Challenge me, darn it! Throw me some interlectual craps that would bend my mind so hard it would hurt to think!
