Shadowmist

Player: Kitty
Name: Shadowmist (born "Winterling")
Sex: male
Age: 4
Species: Asahiko
Clan: Hikari
Height: 4'6"
Fur Color(s) and Markings:Shadowmist is the smooth, level color of hard graphite over most of his body - paler than steel but not too soft a color, either. But he is a funny color - the tips of each hair are black, and the lower parts are paler. From any distance at all he is a level color, but on parts of his body where the hair is shorter, less and less of the pale color is shown. The shorter the hair, the darker the area appears. For instance, around his muzzle and his cheek bone and on his ears where the fur is very fine and short, the hair grows black. This is also true of his legs and feet. On the very end of the bridge of his muzzle he has a stark marking of strong blue. He has this same color just beneath his eyes.
Wing Color: Edged finely in black, the ends of his wings bear a broader margin of black with a border line, flecks of ivory. Closer to the body, the wings are a beautiful irridescent blue with a larger white spot in the central anterior.
Wing Type: 6
Antennae: 3
Eye color: dark blue
Eye type: normal
Personality:He's a little bit of an oddball in the papillon world. He is terribly self-centered, though it is not always expressed. At most times he just comes off as an intense sort of fellow, mostly charming, but one whose mother always told him how handsome he was, and found that most others usually felt the same way. What gifts he was given in looks he was denied in personality as he grew older. Added to being raised as another stereotypical conservative Hikari, he's always limited himself on his friends and although he was popular with his packmates, he was only ever close to those who were similar to himself. He finds the idea that anywolf would be any different from him and everyone he's ever known absurd.
History:He was born "Winterling" to a stately, proud old mother, Laurelstone, in her first and only litter. By the time she had achieved the rank and found the right partner, Laurelstone was quite old for a new mother. She was probably in her younger days quite fair, being a regal soft grey, which grizzled some with each passing year, and having red markings. She was inordinately proud of Winterling, for he was her dominant son, and, forgive her, she spoiled him and neglected his siblings. Laurelstone might have realized what he became by the time she gave him his adult name, for he was displeased with it at first and demanded to know the reasoning behind it. She said she did not know, and turned away from him. Although not at ease, he thought she might have named for his father - Laurelstone vehemently impressed on him that his father was dead, but something in the back of his mind said not - so he did not want to agitate her. Her real reason was that she had been marvelously simple - she thought a field on a winter night cloaked in mist was the most beautiful non-living thing in the world, and it was her favorite memory. She might have realized her son's expanding ego and thought it best not to tell him. In any event, as Shadowmist and his siblings matured, Laurelstone had no inclination of taking another mate. He thought she might have wanted to, but that she was too proud to do such a thing. She invested the entire rest of her life in supporting her offspring, especially, of course, her little Winterling. When, a few weeks ago, she finally succumbed to her age, Shadowmist mourned, but inside he was perhaps glad. The feelings disturbed him, and he could not understand why he would be relieved for his mother to pass away at an age not all that advanced. He thought himself disturbed and with his mother gone, he had little desire to remain with the pack, and left.
