The Star Thrower by Loren Eisley
A friend of ours was walking down a deserted Mexican beach at sunset. As he walked along, he began to see another man in the distance. As he grew near he noticed that the local native kept leaning down, picking up something and throwing it out into the water. Time and time again, he kept hurling things into the water.
As our friend approached ever closer, he noticed that the man was picking up starfish that had been washed up on the beach, and one at a time he was throwing them back into the water. Our friend was puzzled. He approached the man and said,"Good evening, friend. I was wondering what you were doing."
"I'm throwing these starfish back into the ocean,"answered the man. "You see, it's a low tide right now, and all of these starfish have been washed up onto the shore. If I don't throw them back into the sea, they'll die up here from lack of oxygen."
"I understand," our friend replied."But there must be thousands of starfish on this beach. You can't possibly get to all of them. There are simply too many. And don't you realize that this is probably happening on hundreds of beaches up and down this coast? Can't you see that you can't possibly make a difference?"
The local native smiled, bent down and picked up yet another starfish. As he threw it back into the sea, he replied,
" Made a difference to that one."

HUMOR ME
Ever notice, the older we get, the more we're like computers? We start out with lots of memory and drive, then we eventually become outdated, crash at odd moments, acquire errors in our systems, and have to have our parts replaced.

These are some pictures of our 2004 summer vacation. We went to Disney, MGM Studios, Daytona Beach,Fl., Western Carribean Cruise, Mayan ruins in Mexico, New Orleans(yea baby),Vicksburg Mississippi, and we even made a trip up to Michigan to pick up our new puppy Snow Wright. 2004 will always be a year to remember,we started off the year buying a new home  a truck for my hubby and a sports car for me. No payments, now thats something to yahoo about! Un- fortunately it cost my hubby a leg to get what we have but we are making the best of the situation that we can. We never know what the future has in store for us so we think the best thing for our family is to live like we are dying. We are always doing something new. Our lastest thing is bow hunting and ATV riding at a resort we are members of. Oh I can't forget our youngest son Shane took acting lessons at Images of St. Louis, he earned his certificate, he can't wait for his first job! Scott is in his second year of school band and 1st yr of football. As far as Robert and I, we are doing well and have some great plans for 2005 which include travel, home & yard remodeling, computerized home surveillance systems, and a new addition to the family.
