I have had only limitted exposure to Dragon Walk, but it is not the same as Snake, altough similiar. In snake walk, one starts with the ball of the foot, and slides along the floor, as one would when putting on a open faced slipper. I do not how good this would be for mud walking, but it works great for ice. Knees slightly bursh against each other, toes pointed slightly inward, to parrellel. The Chicken Walk is similiar to the steps in Hing Yi's animal Chicken, and is called Crane, in some styles Dragon/Tiger Walk I have high profiency in Dragon Walk, as relate more closeley to Shaolin, which does start with the heel, involve sliding, rather than the Karate method of turning and pivoting on the heel/ankles, for an advancing step. Called green dragon in Ba Gua, Jade Dragon in Shaolin. Jade Dragon, which enables, rooting while moving forward or backward. The lack of any pivoting, in a linear direction, speeds momentum, and accumulates potential energy releases (fa jing), without interruption. depending on the speed, the root is from 3 - 6 feet below the ground surface. Hand forms, follow J-patterns. Walks listed by content:
